Rome: Season 2 Premiere Tonight 9 ET

This is for all the fine people who have the privilege to watch the amazing shows on HBO I tuned into the Season Premiere of Rome last season out of curiosity, considering I am really into the whole Roman thing (Gladiator, Spartacus etc.), and after watching just the first episode I was truly amazed. This show is unbelievable. It's the next huge show on HBO now that the Sopranos is close to finishing. Costing about $10 million (yes, million) an episode, its a historical drama depicting the last days of the Roman Republic and the transition into the Roman Empire. Not only are the historical and political aspects of the show great, but the more personal stories among the people of Rome are what carry the show and make it remarkable.

I know all of you will probably be watching 24, or one of those CSI shows, but if you have HBO, you owe it to yourself to watch Rome.

The Season 1 finale ended off with Caesar's death, as fans of the show already know. I've been highly anticipating this season and what follows the death of Caesar.

10$ million an episode? Thats crazy, though I agree it is a great show. Looks like i'll have to record it though beacause its on at the same time as 24.
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.

I've always seen it on indemand but I've never actually watched an episode. I might watch it one day.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

this show is full of tragedy

btw, anyone notice the subtle nod to Shakespeare's "E Tu Brute" when Brutus said "you too mother" when they were discussing whether they should try to kill Mark Antony? maybe i read too much into that but it seemed like an intentional reference

very good season premiere imo. the writing and production on this show is top notch. It's unfortunate this is the last season and they have to cram so much history into 10 episodes but it should be a good season.

man I feel bad for the Sopranos but I think they can pull it off, they have a though act to follow with The Wire and Rome. Hell you can even throw Entourage since the last season of the Sopranos aired.

My Dad said "E Tu mother" right after he said it. So you arent the only one who noticed that.

The series starts out really slow. Give it a chance because after episode 3 it really shines.

I agree...it started out slow. It makes sense though, they had to build the characters and show some of the actual things that happened during that time period. You won't regret watching the whole series jmood.

Some interesting thoughts in the second episode.

                              - The fight between Mark Anthony and Octavian was classic!
                              - How about the look both Cleopatra and Pullo gave each other?
