Just heard the album and honestly...I don't know how it's possible, but they (or should I say Josh Homme) get better and better as the albums (and band members) pass.
Cameras or guns, one of them is gonna shoot me to death.

I don't know. I think Songs for the Deaf is their best. Next, for me, is their debut, then Rated R and Lullabies. Lullabies just dragged a little towards the end.

Having not heard their debut, I would rank their last 3 like this:

          1-R
          2-Lullabies to Paralyze
          3-Songs for the Deaf

Lullabies & Songs are really close, but R is my clear-cut favorite.

          What are some favorite tracks?

          Here are some of mine:
-Feel Good Hit Of the Summer(how could you not like it?)
          -Auto Pilot
          -Mosquito Song
          -Another Love Song
          -In My Head
          -Little Sister

I love all of their albums, but Lullabies just blew my mind away. The album came out when I JUST broke up with my ex, and songs like "In my head", "The blood is love" and "broken box" just really hit home.

Ok, I've heard this record from front to end atleast 5 times and I must say that this sounds more like a Kyuss record then QOTSA. This is a good thing IMO, as it sounds more like their 'stoner rock' days; tracks like "Misfit Love", "Battery Acid", "I'm Designer" (my favorite track) bring you back atleast 10 years. Great record, people are going to love it.

                      bump. It is out.

It immediately sounded more like R than either of their last two albums. There doesn't seem to be a standout single on the album whiile both Songs for the Dead and Lullabies were full of them. It is much more of the 'stoner rock' sound I think. Even Homme's vocals remind me a lot of R in certain places.

I listened to it last night. Great stuff. While apart from 3s & 7s there's not really a song that is instantly memorable like on their previous albums, I still think the songs are awesome. The album reminds me of Rated R mixed with Welcome to Sky Valley.

Bump. Has anybody else picked this up?

I listened to the album for quite a bit while I was at the beach last week. I must retract what I said about it sounding similar to Kyuss. Era Vulgaris is isn't as loose/rambling as Kyuss was, its tight and concise but not real catchy. Its a definite throwback to QotSA's debut album actually. Its still a great album. Very fun to listen to.

I've only heard one song from this CD on the radio so far-not sure of the name of the song. there was nothing on that song that reminded me of "Sky Valley" by Kyuss. I'd like to hear the whole C.D. but I'm not ready to pay full price for something that just isn't quite Kyuss. As you can tell-I think Kyuss should have never broke up. Think I'll go grab some ice tea and throw Sky Valley in the C.D. player. Good stuff there. One more thing: on a 1 to 10 scale, could anyone give me their score of the newQotSA?
