Re: Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End Discussion

I saw this tonight with my girlfriend. We both liked it overall, but we both agreed it carried on too long. I think there were times they could have helped the audience out with some of the stuff in the movie, but for the most part it worked itself out. If you have some epic expectations I don't think you'll be happy, if you are willing to sit through 3 hours for a good movie (could have been 2 almost) then I reccomend it. They left room for another one though at the end, I think they will make another one but I really don't know how good it will be.

Man Keira Knightly has to eat, at the end of that movie when she was barely in anything, I think my cell phone is thicker than her.

I just got back from seeing it and although it was long it was still good and the ending set up a good story for the next one. I liked that they added a lot more humor to it, the audience was cracking up at parts.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Well I just got back from seeing it (late showing, and I had to drop my girlfriend off). Basically I went to see it cause the g/f wanted to and I kinda liked the first one. Of course, the closet dork she is, she made me watch the first two earlier today before we went, so I basically saw 8 hours of POTC today. Honestly the 3rd one was pretty good in my book...granted I won't see it again until it comes out on DVD and a friend buys it, but it was plenty good.

Easily my favorite of the three and hopefully not the last one. I won't spoil anything but they developed a few new plotlines that could turn into more movies. The effects were much better and the fight scenes seemed more involved as well. I didn't feel it was too long at all and I really felt like the story didn't drag on at all.

If your going to throw romance into an adventure movie, make sure there is a hint of chemistry between the players. I realize it was just a part of the movie but Knightley, Depp and Bloom's triangle is just something they added and didn't mix in. Drawn out, way too long, but better than the second.

Really enjoyed it, especially towards the end. I could see where some people might get lost along the way though, and it was a bit long.

That's scene's fairly overrated, IMHO. I stayed expecting something hilarious/touching/evoking some sort of reaction, but the first thing I said after it was done was "Is that it?" Don't worry about it if you missed it.

I really liked the movie. Much better than POTC2. And, yes, probably too long, but there's plenty there. The final battle scene is amazing.

I thought it was a good movie, but was pretty confused throughout. It was bordering on the point of disappointment until the last hour or so of the movie, which erased any and all thoughts of disappointment from my mind. Damn that last sequence was mind boggling.

How is that scene "overrated"? I don't think anybody has said anything about the quality of the scene, just that there's an extra scene at the end of the credits.

I thought it was a nice coda for the series. Overall, I thought the movie ended well, and it was enjoyable. Still, the first Pirates was the best by far. I'm hoping if there is another Pirates movie, it's just Jack Sparrow and Barbossa.

What was the scene about? It was after 12am when it ended so I wasn't staying around especially since I didn't hear about a scene after the credits.

I saw the movie last night and will say it was okay. Not what I was expecting, some characters are pointless, too much "magical" stuff, a lot of just stupid parts. The first one is my favorite.

the more I think about it, the more I realize that the 3rd was my favorite of the trilogy. The humor, the characters and specifically the last hour put this one on top of the other two.

Elizabeth and a boy of about 10 go to the shore and look out at the sea for Will. They see a flash of green, and Will appears in his ship. That's it, really. Will has a son, obviously, and the 10 years are up, and they're reunited. What's in doubt I think is whether he gets to stay with them forever, or he has to go back to his job of ferrying dead people and he gets to see them only once every 10 years.

Did they end the movie in a fasion that would leave it open for a 4th installment? Or was the ending more of a "that's all folks" ending.
