Limbaugh apologized for what he said about Fox and corrected his statement. Limbaugh can't be around Fox 24/7 and see if he exaggerates symptoms or not, he had to rely on informants. Imus went over the edge, but I don't believe he's a bigot or racist. Cowherd continues to be Cowherd, however......

Agreed, plus I think he picked on the worst group ever. I mean you go and insult the "great" female student athletes who take it way too much to heart. I certainly didn't hear any malice or hatred in his voice when he made the coments. Of course folks like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton had to stick their noses into it and make it a bigger story then it was.

I've heard worse things from Imus and 10x worse from oh, Rush Limbaugh.

Bro, Jesse Jack or Al didn't have to "stick their nose in it" and "make it a bigger story than what it was". To be honest, that sh** was major to me before they got involved. Man that s*** is just straight up disrespectful. I mean really...you have a white male calling a group of black females nappy head hos...man what kinda sh** is that? Just the fact of him referring to them as hos on the radio is enough for me. Imagine someone referring to your mother/sister/daughter/neice/wife/girlfriend in that manner and see how that would make you feel. Man that fool needs to be suspended longer than two weeks...he needs to be gone at least a month. Those girls were out there playing for a national championship...that was totally uncalled for. It's even more uncalled for when people try to downplay it.

Unfortunetly, the only radio I hear these days is my commute into and out of the city. So I have to give a no comment. Though I must say this morning I put on the CD player after Mike and Mike dedicated another hour of time to Imus. That's an hour I can never get back..........

Screw just rappers, I've heard the media say worse things about College Football teams in the past and never get punished. What Imus said may have been uncalled for but it certainly wasn't as pervasive as the media is making it out to be. I guess it is just okay in our society for media personalities to conduct all out character assassination on male athletes, but any comments made towards female athletes will result in quick, unjust punishment. God bless Title IX.

Directly, no. Indirectly this is what it leads to. Largely because ESPN has had nothing better to do than jam women's sports down our throats the past couple of years. With the way ESPN jams this down our throats, increased spotlight will come onto the game, and as such observations like this will be made. Hell, ESPN personalities have said worse things about players from FSU and Miami in rhe past and were never even publicly reprimanded. If these women want their sport in the limelight, they need to take the good with the bad. Making an issue out of it is the worst thing they could do, because like it or not they have made this the biggest issue of their season.

5 years from now, we won't remember the 2006-07 Rutgers women's basketball team made the National Finals, but we will remember Don Imus called them a bunch of hoes.

I understand exactly what you mean about the hip hop artist. They are just as wrong but the major difference is Imus was referring to a specific group of women when he called them nappy head hos. Now if a hip hop artist was on the radio and referred to let's just say the american idol contestants as hos, I would talk just as much s*** if not more in that situation. It's bad to refer to females as such but even worse when you are specific with it.
