While not wanting to stray off-topic, I was merely saying that she has attracted a young (mainly female) audience in the past, and families are now allowing their children to be much more exposed to music that may have profanity in it. More than likely, there's a better chance that they're listening to Yuckmouth rather than Tenacious D. I'm not ready to make a reference to bad-mouthed rock when I have not yet been persuaded that young teenagers are more disentranced to.

I have obviously not heard the entire album, so I can't really say whether or not her use of profanity is even well done, or how often she uses it. I just know what songs I have heard, and it seems that she isn't slowing up with it. I still love her music, though... perhaps one of the only non-country female artists that I can stand listening to. I just hope her portrayal as an artist is never completely changed, though. It could lead to her redefining her style of music from sort of that soft skater rock/pop to... well... dead-drunk punk.

I didn't realize open-mindedness involved terribly bad music. My mistake.

And don't give me that crap on taste is subjective. Bad music is universal.

Please. What's "bad music" to you could be considered "quality music" to others. That logic is so flawed it isn't even funny.

I was being a smartass with that statement.

But considering the fact that you voluntarily purchased an Avril Lavigne album (someone who claims to be punk but didn't know who David Bowie was and started her career singing country music), I guess I assumed too much about your wit.

I apologize. Please go back and enjoy your music made for 12 year old girls. Hell, maybe you could even bag one by playing the "Girlfriend" song.

Unfortunately, this age doesn't seem to be in her demographic anymore.

Actually, I love people that assume. I actually downloaded Lavigne's third album, just like I did her second one. But, hey, nice try.

I apologize. Please go back and enjoy your music made for 12 year old girls.
Oh, believe me I will. I'll go back and listen to my Avril Lavigne, Dream, Mandy Moore, Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson, Spice Girls, *NSYNC, Justin Timberlake or whoever I feel like listening to or whoever you feel may qualify as music "made for 12 year old girls". You know why? Because I'm not so quick to judge music by remotely what the radio plays and actually can listen to an entire album by a certain artist before making judgment. I know, I know. That in itself is an AMAZING concept to comprehend.

Hell, maybe you could even bag one by playing the "Girlfriend" song.
Ah. Again with your assuming. If you actually took the time to READ you would have realized that I actually dislike the song "Girlfriend" and prefer Lavigne's slower-type songs. But, then again... you just assumed, right?

So for those who listened to the album, what are some of her slower, more serious songs? Those are really the only ones I'd actually want to check out.

My favorite track on the album is "When You're Gone". Very nice song. I'm also a fan of "Innocence" (second best track on the album in my opinion) and "Keep Holding On". If you liked her earlier songs such as "Tomorrow", "I'm With You", "Naked", "Slipped Away", or "Nobody's Home" (which to me is Lavigne's best work) those songs should be right up your alley.

I forgot "Keep Holding On" was on that album. I love that song.

I'll definitely give "When You're Gone" a listen.

So you stole her album. Nice. I don't know if that is actually worse or better than purchasing it.

And you are more than welcome to do so. And don't assume that I don't know any of her music, nor any of the artists you mentioned. I have heard her stuff, it is laughably bad. She is not a musician. She is merely a product of the industry which made her. That is why I am giving you, and anyone who listens to her stuff, **** for doing so. You are merely feeding a machine which needs to die. There are too many good artists out there that get no play while people like you and your band of teenagers continue to pump money into crap like Avril, Fergie, etc.

I notice you had no response to the fact that Avril's persona, just like her music, is a complete farce.

Jesus Christ man, grow some balls and listen to real music. Pick up a Beatles album, the Stones, something. Just redeem yourself somehow.

I cannot believe you name-dropped Dream. Nice.

Hard to say if there was a "funniest part" of your post, since it was all laughable...but this may have been the best comment. Way to make yourself look real tough.

I am not trying to look tough. I just don't understand what some people consider decent music sometimes. 90% of what is on the radio is worthless crap now.

Oh well. To each their own, I guess. What will be amusing is when some of these people listening to Avril Lavigne and the like look back 10 years from now. I guarantee none of them will admit that they listened to this crap.

Dammit. I just noticed I have been getting into a music battle with a slew of 18 and 19 year olds. Nevermind.
