Sounds very similar to the stretch of road that I live off of. Food places, strip malls, Best Buy's and all that junk within 5 minutes from my house. Only thing that sucks is traffic is often congested and there are stop lights every 10-20 yards, but I've gotten used to it. These are the restaurants on that strip: Red Robin, Longhorn, Bravo, Olive Garden, Max and Erma's, Smokey Bone's, Hereford and Hops, On the Border (Mexican), Applebee's, Lonestar, Subway, Quiznos and all the typical fast food places. Ironically, my favorite place is a small chain restaurant called Springfield Grille. It's more expensive and classier (no jeans or t-shirts), but well worth it as the food is outstanding. I think they have one in Boardman, OH as well.

Boardman is a hike, about a 90 min drive south I believe. If I'm ever down that way, I'll check it out though. I'm always open to new places to eat.

Good Lord the nearest one is 115 miles away. If it ain't in the Birmingham/Hoover area, its probably not that good

Sounds like Brier Creek in Raleigh, near where I live... On one side of the Highway, you have Super Target, BJs, the movie theatre, along with Johnny Carino's, Chili's, Uno's, Longhorn Steakhouse, and Applebees.. And there's a Japanese steakhouse that I forget the name of... Then you have the little regular restaurants. On the other side of Hwy 70, you have Super Walmart, and there's a sub shop, Red Robin, ColdStone, Panera Bread. There are others there that I'm sure I'm missing.

I'm pretty sure one of my favorite resturants, Fire and Ice, is opening up a new one in Birmingham sometime this year, if it hasn't already. I love that place.

The most pretentious effing place ever. Cost me $5 dollars for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich (only ordered that because the rest of the food looked like ***) that tasted like cardboard. That and Subway (wayyyy overrated) have to go down as the two worst places to eat for me.

I can wait until I get home to find something to eat. I'm not going to whither away because I haven't eaten in 20 minutes.

I do go out to restaurants; usually a few times a month. I wouldn't call that eating fast food though.

We've got it fairly made food wise in Bangor, Maine. Around our mall, all within about a 1/2 mile away, there is a 99, Chilis, Smokey Bones, Texas Roadhouse, Olive Garden, Wendy's, Arby's, KFC (famous bowls!), Mcdonalds, and BK. Granted, I never eat at BK or Mcdonalds, but the rest are great.

My favorite steakhouse is 99. I get the same thing every time, smothered steak tips, mashed potato with onions, and corn. Best meal ever.

Gotta give it up to Wendy's as well. I work at Sears, and Wendy's is literally a half minute away down the road. Every day on break I get a crispy chicken sandwich and two five piece nuggets, all for 3 bucks. Good deal.

I LOVE Smokey Bones. We had one in Wilmington. Don't have one in Winston though. I miss it dearly.

There's one in Greensboro, I went there last time I was in town. Good stuff.
