So my iPhone 3G is holding on for dear life. It has become unbearably slow and my "lock" button has fallen off. Joy. I've been holding off on purchasing a 4 since I figured the 5 was coming out in June. Of course Apple is not talking.

I don't know how much longer I can hold out before I throw my phone against the wall in frustration. Has anyone heard anything about the 5's potential release date? I can try and hold off if it will be in a few months, but it there won't be one until next I am caving and just getting a 4. For my own sanity.

I finally got my iphone! Ordered an Otterbox? case for it. Until I get it I'm keeping it in a safe. lol

Also, my wife's iphone went on the fritz and kept popping up a message about an accessory not optimized for her phone even though there was nothing plugged in.

She took it in (out of warranty of course) and found out somehow that a drop of water got on the plug in thing. No idea how that happened though. But they replaced it for free anyway with a new phone.

That was pretty cool, she bought the 2yr warranty for it.

Next-Generation iPhone With 'Radical New Case Design' Coming in August?

BGR reports that it has received word from a reliable source indicating that the next-generation iPhone will indeed be a significant departure from the existing iPhone 4 form factor, bringing a "radical new case design" for the handset. According to the source, Apple may be preparing for an event in early or mid August to introduce the next iPhone, which would become available in the last week of August.

While Apple has indeed been giving some developers access to a device known as the iPhone 4S -- an iPhone 4 with upgraded internals -- BGR has independently confirmed that the next-generation iPhone will not merely be an upgraded iPhone 4 as had been previously rumored. We have been told by a reliable source to expect a radical new case design for the upcoming iPhone. We have not been given any additional details surrounding the design of the new iPhone case, though.

BGR's claims contradict a number of other reports that have claimed that Apple's next iPhone will appear nearly identical to the iPhone 4, with most improvements confined to the internals of the device. Several reports have also suggested that the new iPhone won't appear until the September-October timeframe, in line with the company's iPod-focused media event traditionally held around that time.

While BGR has demonstrated solid sourcing for Apple's iOS updates and offered some accurate information from Apple's retail store operations, the site has been less accurate with other recent claims. Recent misses include Back to School promo details and claimed MacBook Pro details

I figure there'd be some leaks by now if it were a big deal. It's likely under the hood this time.

In case you haven't tried it, this is simply phenomenal. VERY close to iOS5 and actually better in some cases, outside of it's impact on battery life. Comparing the two from Beta1 it is similar.

Before you ask - phone has to be jailbroken and have purchased LockInfo.

Anyone know of some good budget apps or apps to keep track of spending? I used to write it on paper to balance, but I know there has to be some good apps out there.

iXpenseIt is what you need. You can keep track of your income, expenses, cash flow, etc and also the ability to control custom budgets (business & personal). And of course, a huge amount of reports to visualize where your money go.

I use Mint. It will automatically connect to your banks/credit cards and download all the information. It's free.
