Apple Confirms iOS 5 Causing Poor Battery Performance
Solution should roll out in a couple of weeks.

Earlier this week, iPhone 4S owners were reported to be filling Apple's support forum with complaints of a battery draining bug with the new device's software. Apple has officially addressed the issue and are currently working on a fix.

Apple told All Things D that "A small number of customers have reported lower than expected battery life on iOS 5 devices." They continued by stating, "We have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks."

The developer beta for Apple iOS 5.1 was just released, which includes a fix for the battery issue, so a solution to the problem will hopefully hit users soon.

Battery hasn't been that bad for me, I'm been messing with mine all day and I'm sitting at 30%.

I've had zero battery reduction. The email freeze is the only issue I've seen since upgrading to ios5

I've only had one strange occurrence with the battery on my 4S... Battery died randomly in the middle of the day when it was around 60% the last time I checked it. Really strange.

Other than that, I've only had a few days where the battery level has dipped below 40%.

I haven't had any sudden battery drains like some people, but overall performance has been crappy. By the end of the day I would be at 10-20% vs 30-40% on the 3GS. Things have gotten a little better as the battery has cycled a few times now, but overall still meh. Looking forward to the update.

I don't have the fancy-smancy 4s you guys do, but I've actually had the oppsite effect with my 3gs since iOS5. Better battery performance and overall performance in general.

Vlingo.........a free app for Iphone 4g........similar to Siri. Allows voice activated texting and calling.(It won't give you a weather report, though....)

Only thing it doesn't do is when you say "go to Facebook", it takes you to Google. However, it WILL update your status by telling it what to post.

Pretty neat app. With the new OS working as it does with Icloud, who needs the 4S? Lol......

I just got my iphone4s for verizon and is noticing you cant customize it as much as you could the droids..is there an app where you can customize the keyboard at all?...I will say though the signal strength with the Iphone in my house destroys my droid signal strength!!

You can't modify the keyboard without jail breaking. What issue do you have with the stock keyboard?
