Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
I use this site also audiko.net it's real easy. Use any MP3 and even youtube audio. Just upload whatever file in mp3, cut, and it changes it tp m4.r on your desktop. Click the song and it goes into the iTunes as a ringtone.I was going to get Joe Starkey saying "Touchdown 49ers" as my ringtone, but I can't seem to get the youtube function to work.
Check it out
How come no one has thought of a way to make custom text sounds?
This still works too (I think)
1. Click on iTunes – Library
2. Click the song you’d like to edit
3. Locate the start and end times of the selection you want. To do this, move the iTunes playback head (at the top of iTunes) to the start of the selection and note the start time. Then move the playback head to the end of the selection and note the end (stop) time.
4. Click on the Song File – Get Info – Options
5. Click on Start Time and enter the start time you noted
6. Click on Stop Time and enter the end time you noted
7. Click on OK
8. Click on iTunes – Edit - Preferences – Importing
9. In Import Using, click on AAC Encoder
10. Click on OK
11. Right Click on the Track thats been added – Convert Selection to AAC
12. Right click the new AAC track and choose to find in on your computer
13. Rename the new AAC track as a .m4r
14. Double click the new .m4r which will open up into the ringtones section of iTunes
15. Sync new ringtone to iphoneLast edited by Brandwin; 07-17-2008, 11:39 AM.Comment

Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
Its very easy to make your own custom ringtone.
Edit down whatever you want (make it less than 30 secs)
Convert it to AAC in iTunes
Find the actual file and bring it to the desktop (make sure its deleted from itunes)
Choose Get Info on the file, and under name & extension, rename it to (whatever song title is).m4r ****You must rename it to .m4r in the name & extension!!, just doing it from the desktop will not work****
Add back to itunes, BINGO!
This is for Mac's, Windows is the basically the same way, but I really dont know the specifics.Comment

Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
Man this sucks, I have to wait two weeks to get my phone since every single store is sold out.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
Yeah...though with the app store and that I now paid the 10 bucks for firmware 2.0 I'm not feeling the urgent need to jailbreak my Touch. My biggie was when there wasn't even mail, maps, whatnot on it, and now I can get all the apps on the store. Not sure I'll go through the hassle of breaking it open until there's something I really want (and themes don't thrill me that much).Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
Mobile Chat coming soon....for $2.99
Server-side connection management
All of your connections will be managed by our servers and as a result, your IM sessions will remain active regardless of your phone’s connectivity options. If you drop coverage or EDGE craps out on you, we’ll keep the connection live until you come back onto our network. This creates a lot of flexibility for those of you who still have terrible network coverage.
Multiple Accounts
Now all of your accounts can be online at one time. You can connect up to 10 accounts over varying networks simultaneously. That means you can have your 3 AIM accounts, your GTalk account and your 2 MSN accounts all connected from your iPhone.
Buddy Icon Support
Set your buddy icon from a picture in your photo library and see your friend’s icons too. A first for MobileChat!
Profiles & Away Messages
Set your profile and view your friend’s or set a personalized away message.
“Push Compatible”
While we can’t enable Push notifications until Apple releases the service to developers in August (hopefully), we have built MC3 to take full advantage of push notifications as soon as they are offered. This will eventually allow you guys to get notified of new IMs even when you have the app closed!
Instant Message a Phone Number
Don’t want to waste those text messages on your plan? Just create a new IM and MobileChat will automatically display your contact list so you can send an IM to any mobile phone number. Once the message has been created, you can have a full “SMS like” conversation without using any text messages.
Buddy Alias
Call them what you want in MobileChat 3. If you want xoangelcutie93810xoxoxo to show up as “Tanya”, that won’t be a problem.

Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
so I was looking around at different wallet apps for the iphone.
I stumbled across 1Passwd. Its a mac app that they are taking over to the iphone. Its currently not available for iphone, but has been submitted to Apple for approval. I went ahead and downloaded the free version for my Mac. Let me just say that I have only been using this software for 24 hours, but it has absolutely changed the way I use my mac. Its integration into the browsers is amazing, and its great having all my stuff stored away securely in one location.
The iPhone app coming soon will only add even more value.
I HIGHLY recommend this program for ANYONE using a Mac.
