    There is absolutely no possible way the original iPhone will ever run on the 3g network.

    I would have jotted down her name, and then played stupid and got a bunch of free stuff from att because that is completely false.

        You need 3G chipsets to obtain 3G speeds. Has nothing to do with your sim card.

            I joined the iPhone club today Got an 8GB one and love it so far...Because this thread is so long, does anyone have any recommendations for an iPhone newbie like me?

                That is what I figured as well. Oh well, I thought I was getting 3G for free but no dice

                    Shazam from the Appstore is cool. It listens to a song and tells you who sings it, the name of it and gives direct links to itunes and youtube (for the music video). I use it all the time when I hear a song that I don't know who sings

                        Are you sure you downloaded themes for Winterboard ? There used to be a program and tons of themes called "Summerboard".
                        Firmware was jailbroken early Saturday. My phone is already jailbroken on 2.1.

                                                    Goodness... that theme is a big mess! Icons are way too big, nothing is consistent. There are better leopard themes out there.

                                                    FYI, both the Edge and 3G icons changed.

                                                            I have been looking in to all these mods and I assume you have to "Jailbreak" your phone. I've skimmed over guides but I'm too lazy to stress my technological brain right now.

                                                            Does anyone have a fool proof guide to jailbreaking the phone and how I go about adding apps, themes, and all that good stuff?

                                                            EDIT: Used WinPwn 2.5, created the custom restore file, got in to DFU mode all that stuff. After restore Cyndia and Installer are nowher to be found. If anyone that has done it successuflly can PM me their aim or msn that would be awesome.
