It's not all unofficial cords. It's the knock off cables that don't pay Apple for the right to license their design. Apple approved cables have a chip in them that iOS 7 now looks for before they work. So you don't have to get an Apple branded cable, you just need to get one from a reputable store like AT&T, Verizon, Best Buy, etc.

I usually associate "unofficial cords" with cords that aren't licensed with Apple, especially when mentioning "bought cheap, eBay." Usually when it's that situation, it's cords not licensed by Apple.
The non-Apple, but still works on your phone is basically "licensed cords"
That's my terminology with that.
Apple cords are the best though. Always have. Even with how easy they can get twisted and get teared.
Also, anyone having problems opening links on Tapatalk? Is it cause I'm Jailbroken? Cause it's annoying.
The first time I tried jailbreaking was with iOS 7 and I honestly love the way the phone looks so much I don't want to change anything. The only thing I've done was install the dark themed keyboard. I'd like biteSMS but it seems pretty buggy still.

It's (biteSMS) constantly in development, always make sure you using their beta repo. If you wanna check out the best tweaks/themes that the JB community has to offer, reddit is probably the best place. Most of the tweaks I picked up were from others and the devs of the tweaks.
So is the most current version of iOS 7 capable of being untethered jailbroke?
Yes. If you want to do it, do it now. iOS 7.1 is in it's 5th beta and it already fixed the jailbreak. So once it officially releases, you can't jailbreak no more.
It's obviously iPhone 4/4S. iP5 came out around iOS 6.
If it's the 4, it's a bit (more or less) laggy, but I'm sure there's ways to make it faster.
4S: it should still be fine.

I know, but that's my point. I know people who have ios 7 on iPhone 4 that have some horrible lag. I switched from my 4s to 5s after ios 7, and got to feel what it was like on that device and it still had lag, but not as bad as 4. Obviously I can't compare ios 7 on 4s to 5s, but 4s wasn't that bad.
Also, ios 6 came out before IP5, so I know it can't be that.

I really don't recommend people on a 4 do iOS 7, unless a jailbreak can speed it up. It's horribly slow. I see customers all the time who're complaining about the speed. The 4S is fine though.
