Okay so I just got the iPhone 3g. I have so many questions though. It seems this thing is capable of so many things I just don't know what to do first! What should I do?! Any cases you guys recommend? Apps? basics? Really, tell me anything and everything. Also, how do you make contacts on your PC and input them into your iPhone?

Oh, and how do I get wallpapers and themes? I desperately want some. I have Windows XP, not a Mac. Is the only way to do it to jailbreak it? What exactly does jailbreaking do, and are there any negatives? Is there any place I can go in my iPhone to download themes straight from the phone?

just google iphone wallpapers and you can get some.... Some popular apps are Facebook, Myspace, YPMobile, TapTap, Box Office (now called something else) just to name a few.

Ok... so who wants a $25 gift card for free?

So it turns out AT&T has a referral system where they will send out $25 gift cards to new subscribers and current subscribers via their referral system.

If you already have the iPhone and are willing to do this, let me know. What's great is you can use this towards your monthly bill as well.

Every time you plug up your iPhone does it back it up? It does that every time and takes FOREVER!

mine does it too Dookie. Not sure how to change that as it's annoying. I add a lot of apps to my phone from the phone itself, so I think that might be why.

Maybe that's the reason. I get a lot of Apps from the phone itself as well.

We're seeing problems with both Edge and 3G from places such as Boston, New York and St. Louis. It's primarily iPhone users pinging us on this, and in AT&T's forums, but we're guessing it's not just limited to them. yeah when I was on the train this morning, all i wanted was the freakin mets score and I couldnt get it to connect for the life of me. i was turning it off, switching to edge and 3g, wow, glad i wasnt alone.

You're pretty lucky. Either your service was just restored or you're one of (VERY) few that have had no issues. Reports coming in from all over, including MA:

We're talking MA, NY, NJ, VA... all have had reported outages. I even spoke to a couple of AT&T reps and they acknowledged the lack of service.
