also, finally got a chance to check out a game on the mlb at bat app. have it hooked up with my wi-fi, WOW. i cant believe how GREAT the picture is. man, i wish the NHL, NBA, and NFL would get in on this kind of stuff.

the old lady playing Sallys Spa and watching her soaps on dvr, im in the sack watching some baseball. wooooooooo

well, this is just my luck. so i go to put my phone on silent by flipping the lil button down. guess what? came right off.. jesus!!

so i called att mad as hell, told them my first issue, now this one. they said, per ATT policy that the store should have done the switch for me from the get go. they said i will get a new phone from a att store today, put it in my notes witj policy number etc. i called apple, just to verify again, they said the store indeed can replace defected phones and dont let them tell me other wise.

i swear its only me that this crap happens to.. wtf?

I have had a iphone since the beginning with zero issues. Sounds like bad luck and definitely not the norm.

Picked up my 32GB Black 3GS yesterday, couldn't hold off any longer. Love it! The better speaker alone was basically worth it. And going from EDGE to 3G reminds me of 56K to cable internet

Yeah, the speaker is really loud. My old Phone I had to keep the volume at max and it wasn't loud enough.

well the att store replaced my 2nd phone today in the store..

guess what? they had a few left, i checked them all out, they all had the same issues with the loose silent button and power button. it sounds like a video game controller when you shake it a tad.

so it had to be the shipment to that store and just bad luck for me with the 1 the apple store gave me. ugh only the 32gigs i guess, my old ladies 16 gig is just fine.. boo lol

so i called apple and told them listen, im losing my patience here. i had 3 phones in 3 days and all with the same issue.

they are overnighting me a new iPhone 3GS and a 50 dollar gift card!!

fingers are crossed..

Glad things are working out for you. That was nice of them to give you a $50 GC.

yeah i guess, i was just glad the manager was at the store today.

they checked my account, seen a customer rep quoted a policy on my account. but she was quick to point out that its 110% wrong reguarding iPhones. but i read it myself and it had iPhone replacemnet within the policy. i bet the stores just dont want to replace these phones bc of losing stock so to speak. i guess i dont blame them, but how often could this happen? esp at the same store so to speak.

but kudos to the stores manager for helping me out as much as she could.

i told her give me any number that she needed and i will give that store all kinds of credit!!

i also hate how far away the apple store is. bah

Now I can join the club. I just bought my wife an iPhone 3G 8GB the other day. She absolutely loves it. That may be an understatement too. The only drawback is not having MMS for sending pics back and forth. We have three little kids so that lacking feature of the iPhone is about the only drawback I can think of so far.

Anyway, she (we) are just learning to use it.

Question: How can she text in landscape view? Is that possible on this phone?

You need to be at 3.0 update to text in landscape. Just open up the text and turn the phone sideways and the screen will turn. You might not have firmware 3.0 if it's a 3g (not the 3gs) so if you plug into iTune it should ask if you want to update.

You'll be able to do MMS soon I believe.

For landscape mode, make sure you download the latest update that came out a few days ago, 3.0. Then once you have it downloaded just flip the phone on the side and wala!

Question: Does the 3GS cost less if I already have a 3G? Sounds stupid but I haven't been able to find out anywhere.

Well I got a chance to play with the 3Gs today. Love the speed. I do have to admit, the volume is slightly lower than my 3G. Don't know why, but it was noticeable as I played a video from both my device and the display.

As for being jailbroken, I'm restoring to stock right now. My battery life has taken a hit ever since being jailbroken, so I have no idea what's up with that. I will be staying stock for now.
