Thanks Pared. I actually found out that Beejive does support hiding the IM contents and displaying just the name on notifications. It's right under settings > Beejive, then scroll all the way down. It works as I expected.

I bought it as you can tell and I'm very pleased.

I'm actually happy you found that because I would have never known. I thought that was exclusively for emails, as they used to send you email notifications when push notifications weren't available.

The AIM app (both free and paid) has push notifications, which you can customize four different ways: Brief (just says "New IM"), Sender only, Normal (sender and text), full (lists your screen name as well as who its from and the IM text).



Also, how much do you think an original iPhone would go for on ebay? Would there be a way to not have to sell it if the final bid is lower than what I would want? Or is that just an inherent risk of ebay?

AT&T website said I can upgrade to a 32 gig 3G S for $299. That's correct isn't it? I think they are $699 retail?

I am trying to sell my 2g phone. A lady on craigslist said she would give a hundred but I told her I wanted at least $150. Someone wants to buy my broken 360 and I told them $90. That would give me $240 there and I wouldn't really have to come out of pocket. With the wedding coming up, I really don't want to spend $300 at the moment, but if I can sell those things, it would be fine.

You're getting married?! congrats!

Selling those items sounds like a good deal. Think about this, if you sold the iPhone on eBay and used Paypal for receiving payment then you would be paying a listing fee, a final price fee, and a transaction fee (from Paypal). So a final auction of $200 minus all those charges is probably the same hassle as getting at least $150 cash for it.

Pared, is there a way to refresh your buddy list in Beejive? I can't seem to find it. It seems like one of the options buttons when looking at the list should be a refresh button.
