Re: The Paris Hilton Thread
As I said before, the original charge was DUI and it got reduced to reckless driving, which was why she was on probation in the first place and got her license suspended. She was stopped once and had to sign something saying that she knew that she couldn't drive then got stopped again, which was when she got arrested.she got no DUI. the charge was reckless driving (misdemeanor) and she got her license suspended i believe. she was stopped driving without a license and then was late to court (but she did appear) and the judge went overboard with the sentencing because he wanted to make an example of her.
I asked this question about overcrowding earlier, why would it apply to her when she's in a private cell? She's not in the general population where overcrowding would be an actual problem so releasing her and trying to justify it by saying that the prison is crowded(as some people have done) doesn't make much sense.i dont know about all of that and the situations as to why they let her out early...but i have a buddy that works for the sherriff's department. They let people out for overcrowding all of the time. they prioritize by what prisoners have the least chargers and and the least amount of time to serve and those are the prisoners that they let out first.
anyway, i dont think they let her out for overcrowding but i would bet Paris probably has the least severe charges of anyone in that prison.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: The Paris Hilton Thread
I'm not railing on the media and I haven't been watching tv since this morning. This is my first day out of school and I have nothing else to do.I'm beginning to see how some of you guys have such an insane number of posts...every two minutes, jmood, GIGGAS, and Acid "Paris this and Paris that".
Geez, you rail on the media and are obviously sitting and watching this crap in order to post about it. I don't get it!

Re: The Paris Hilton Thread
I see Lee Baca has a press conference in a few minutes. Will he resign his position?
Paris is pretty stupid though. They reduced her sentence based on 'expected' good behavior and she goes and adds 22 days to it. Lmao, what a bumb broad. Saw the pic of her crying in the car. Hilarious. HAHAHA, they just showed it again, funny stuff. They said she was screaming for her mom and stuff, truly pathetic.
Here's how bad this is right now, ESPN led with it.PS: You guys are great.

Re: The Paris Hilton Thread
I really want to see that press conference. It's funny that out of all the cases where celebrities have gotten off extremely easy, it took Paris Hilton to bring the rich vs. poor debate to national television.I see Lee Baca has a press conference in a few minutes. Will he resign his position?

Re: The Paris Hilton Thread
I'm guilty of this. This morning when I was watching I thought it was one of the most pathetic things I've ever seen with it being the main story on CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News. Then after they decide to throw her back in jail I start watching those same channels. Talking about the immigration bill or the war just doesn't bring ratings like quite like a picture of Paris crying in the back of a police car does.Comment

Re: The Paris Hilton Thread
some of you guys are crazy wishing and wanting them to throw someone in jail (someone that has probably never even been to court before this) and throw away the key for a freakin misdemeanor that usually doesnt lead to ANY jail time...I dont care if she is famous or rich or a B or people dont like her or whatever. Its BS
90 percent of the people in that jail are there awaiting trial for FELONIES (a large percentage of those charges being murder or attempted murder). and yall can imagine that LA county jail is 100 percent full at all times. They need room for the serious criminals yet they are going to keep Paris Hilton there for 40 days. It's absolutely freakin ridiculous. The "justice" system is out of controlLast edited by ZB9; 06-08-2007, 05:50 PM.Comment

Re: The Paris Hilton Thread
Yeah they really need room for more criminals in that high profile, special wing of prison that she was in. Please tell me who needs that room. She is seperated from everyone so that overcrowding excuse doesn't work.some of you guys are crazy wishing and wanting them to throw someone in jail (someone that has probably never even been to court before this) and throw away the key for a freakin misdemeanor that usually doesnt lead to ANY jail time...I dont care if she is famous or a B or whatever. Man this sheriff is a joke, I won't go into it because it will get the thread locked.
I could rip this guy apart in court and I'm not a lawyer. Nothing is this guys fault, he doesn't know what his staff has done or not done, has no clue why the jude was mad that she wasn't in court.Comment

Yeah it really says a lot about their system if he claims to know nothing about anything despite being the sheriff. I understand that LA is huge but how can he know nothing?Man this sheriff is a joke, I won't go into it because it will get the thread locked.

Re: The Paris Hilton Thread
this is LA county we are talking about. The jail is 100 percent full. ALL PARTS OF THE JAIL ARE FULL.
most people with the charges that Paris Hilton had dont do ONE DAY in jail. Hilton has already done 5, yet the judge wants to keep her there for 40 days. I guarantee you that she has the least severe charges of anyone in that jail.Comment

Re: The Paris Hilton Thread
The wing she is is set aside only for people who are celebrities and/or cases like Scott Peterson. That part of jail is in no danger of being overcrowded. Most people wouldn't have gotten three chances to do right, Paris did. Most people at most might've gotten one chance after violating probation and have to pay a fine or something. She was stupid enough to break the law after getting another chance and she deserves the time that she has. Who do you know has been on probation and was allowed to break the law three times and not go to jail?this is LA county we are talking about. The jail is 100 percent full. ALL PARTS OF THE JAIL ARE FULL.
