The DA should file charges against the jail/police and go arrest her and take her back to jail. Who did they make this deal with? If the DA had no clue and the jjudge didn't order it, who gave the authorization to release her? The DA has a badge, go get her.

If she really had a medical problem, send her to the hospital, put an IV in her neck and send her back to jail.

[Edit]After the other link, it appears that the sheriff was paid off or was scared/told that he would be sued if something happened because the idiot didn't want to eat.

At the end of the day the Judge, who gave specific orders she stay in jail, has more power than some bitch *** sheriff's department, hopefully he does the right thing and sends her back and extends her sentence.

Why would he extend her sentence? If the sheriff's department let her out, it is not her fault that she left. If a sheriff said you could leave, you're telling me you would stay?

Sure, put her back in jail for the rest of her sentence. But you can't extend it.

If you read the link that I posted it said that the sheriff acted illegally and since he did that they are saying that she should serve the original sentence, which is 45 days. The sheriff violated both the terms of her probation and the ruling of the judge.

Oh okay. I thought MassNole was saying that Paris should serve out the rest of her sentence(which she should), but then the judge should extend it for her leaving early.

She should go back and serve her original sentence, but no more than that.

Yeah I meant extend it from 23 to 45 days, I also think the judge should define to the sheriff's department what a day entails, not a couple of minutes here or there. As such, the judge should probably specify it in terms of hours not days. Ideally he'd also specify no special treatment, such as being placed in the celebrity lockup.

That being said, I hope the judge orders jail time for the sheriff who defied the orders, again no special provisions for him either, just straight jail for a few days, perhaps in his own prison.

I don't want the sheriff to see jail time for contempt. I want him flat out fired. A direct violation of a judge's order without so much as contact with the judge or the district attorney should be definitive grounds for termination of the position.

I don't think Paris Hilton should be punished for the incident. She should serve 23 days as originally ordered. The sheriff's office should also be docked pay for the travel expenses and double processing costs.

WTG Judge! This judge deserves a title better than honorable that is for damned sure. The CNN.com headline says she was screaming as she left, he should have found her in contempt and tacked some more time on.
