Earwigs are friggin' evil. Every cellar/shed door that you open in the south has thousands of those creepy looking bastards falling out. I swear it looks like they have little bug orgies in the cracks of doors. Ewww.

You know what I'm talkin about... I saw 3 in my bathroom just last night. I'm evil right back, I washed one down the drain in the sink then flushed one down the toilet. I don't care if they're one of God's little creatures... they can go to ****ing hell for all I care.

Two words: Diatomaceous Earth

This stuff is a miracle for our house. BUT, our problem was ants. However it works the same way (in theory) This stuff is 100% non toxic. YOu don't have to worry about your kids getting sick, cuz there's no poison. And it'll rip these things to shreds like mini razor wire.

I tried everything to stop an ant infestation last year. I mean EVERYTHING. I laid this stuff down and within two days POOF ,no ants.

Now your exterminator may have already tried this, but if he didn't, run don't walk and get you some.


Kill Bugs

Never heard of that stuff. Can you buy that at places like Lowes? I'm wondering if I can just dust our yard with that rather than the bug killer stuff we normally buy that only works for a little while.

Earwigs aren't southern, they're VA and MD.

But they can swim. I threw one in the toilet and the damned thing was swinging in there for like 2 minutes. Then I flushed the that.

Ah, bugs ... I'm a wuss when it comes to bugs, lol.

I've never had a scorpion problem, so I have no idea what to say about that. Nor do I ever wish to have one .

But before I moved, I used to have a bee problem at my old address. Bees KEEP building small nests at weird nooks and crannys. They once built this small one at the corner of the roof. And even once built one on an old BBQ machine that I had out in the yard. Had to keep getting rid the nest with a hose. But after a few weeks they just keep coming back. But now I moved (not because of the bees, heh) .

You can use the stuff outside. A lot of online stores sell 10 lb bags for next to nothing...HOWEVER. You should NOT use it outside because it will kill bugs that you don't want dead. Bugs that are good for the plants in your yard. Use it indoors only or right outside near your entry ways.

I agree with you, i am almost certain earwigs are the spawn of satan. As for the scorched earth policy, if it worked against armies i think it could have the same effect on scorpions, just try a much smaller scale. :wink:

Most of the ones that come into houses are too small to hurt a human, at least in my experience.

YEah that makes it better. Damn that is scary, hope you can fix the problem. I guess you can call a pest control guy to come out.

We've got earwigs in Michigan too. Never a big problem though.

Our latest problem here has been armyworm moths that get caught up in storms and dropped off here. They're actually the reason for the huge swarms of seagulls at the Tigers' home games last weekend. One of those little bastard moths got into my house last week...it didn't flutter around the lights, it totally vanished for two days, and then randomly popped up again when I sat down to eat last Monday.

The outbreak of moths is on the downside, thankfully.

Let's not. I was mowing the yard the other day, and got near an old wooden bridge.. and ran over a little things of weeds, and you could see quite a few brown recluse scattering. Those things are QUICK too.

Nastiest looking spiders too...
