After that, not too many other movie that were super funny. I never really thought i could find a movie funny as Meet The Parents until i watched Wedding Crashers, but thats not something you can watch with your parents or your 13 year old brother
"There's Something About Mary" is a hundred times better than Meet the Parents.

I'm 19, All of my favorite movies are made post 1980

          Bourne Identity
          Forrest Gump
          Donnie Darko
          Sandlot
          Major League
          Shawshawk Redemption
          Ghosterbusters
          Ace Ventura

          just to name a few.

And I have only seen one foreign film in my entire life.

I just don't find jokes about poop to be funny. The art of the comedies I have listed above was that the premise and the characters made them hilarious (Major League, Forrest Gump: All Character Humor, Ghostbusters/Ace Ventura: Premise and Characters)....There are no jokes about poop in any of them and with the exception of the lockerroom scene in Major League none of them use the f-word in their jokes.

Not sure where the idea that using the f-word as a comma is funny came from, but it ruins a lot of movies: Cases in point: "The Departed", "Resevoir Dogs" etc.

It is as though the writers have stopped putting effort into being funny and have decided to try to be as dirty and ambiguously homosexual as possible to be funny.

            Agreed.

No! No, no, not 6! I said 7. Nobody's comin' up with 6. Who works out in 6 minutes? You won't even get your heart goin, not even a mouse on a wheel.

My previous posts were pretty stupid when I think about it though. Owen was a big part of Wedding Crashers, I have to give him his props. The thing is I've never thought of Owen or Luke as lead actors. I haven't seen any of the movies trobinson listed, besides Old School. I'll have to check some out. How could I forget about Old School? Thanks ndeezlo. I guess agree to disagree.

Better, but not that much better. I thought Matt Dillion was the gem in There's Something About Mary.

Props to you for "re analyzing" and sorry about the "ridiculous" assessment to your original opinion. I think there is truth in what you say about the Wilsons, but both will be major players (particularly Owen) for years to come.

Then nevermind and I respect your opinion.

The way I read your original post, I thought you were one of those IMDB guys who always are ready to tell you their top 20 films, half of which they've never seen.

IMDB film fans are awful. Less like fans, and more like snobs...

But Old School is great and was what really got things started for the original frat pack IMO... Well maybe Zoolander was the first, but Old School started the rush of movies they put out.

Ace Ventura? You've got to be kidding me!

While it may be short on scatalogical jokes, I'm sure a guy pretending to talk out of his ***hole is somewhere in the ballpark.

No hard feelings. I think you're right about Owen though. He's becoming a huge star.

F-bomb ruining The Departed/Resevoir Dogs? These are gritty dramas, not after-school specials. And I know several people in my life (one from Boston) who uses the f-word as much as the characters in The Departed.
