Re: The new Die Hard movie is PG-13!!!
I am really excited for this movie. It probably won't live up to the first one, but I don't expect it to.
The original Die Hard is quite possibly the best "cop vs. robber" movie ever made.Comment

Re: The new Die Hard movie is PG-13!!!
I just got back from seeing it and it was surprisingly good. I've only seen the first one a long time ago so I haven't been a fan but after watching it it made me go rent the other one's.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Was it all CGI or was it an actual good action flick like the others?Comment

Re: The new Die Hard movie is PG-13!!!
It was better then I thought it was going be. Could have used a few more F-bombs and gore though. I rank it last out of the four but it is worthy of being called a die hard movie.Free The Birds!!!Comment

Re: The new Die Hard movie is PG-13!!!
I saw it today and I liked it. Plenty of action and just an enjoyable movie overall. I wouldn't have noticed it was PG-13 movie if I hadn't seen this thread before I went, though looking back there wasn't a lot of gore or many "bad words." I'd say it's step behind the 1st and 3rd Die Hards, but better than #2.Comment

Re: The new Die Hard movie is PG-13!!!
Unbelievable. I cannot believe I just spent $8.50 on that piece of trash movie. I love Bruce Willis and I love the John McClane character, but this movie was absolutely horrible. This movie was nothing, and I mean nothing, like the first three Die Hards. I knew it wouldn't live up to the Die Hard name, as soon as I saw that PG-13 rating.
The original Die Hards were actually believable and "different" from other films. Whereas Live Free or Die Hard is just like every other summer action flick, with it's big *** explosions and outlandish plot/action. The new director absolutely destroyed the Die Hard theme and the Die Hard name. Not only did it lack in realism, but it also lacked the attitude and setting of the Die Hard series.
I wish Bruce would have waited for McTiernan to get out of jail/prison, so he could have directed it.Comment

Re: The new Die Hard movie is PG-13!!!
Its Die Hard. Didn't it help usher in the whole summer/action genre complete with outlandish plot/action and explosions? I liked the movie, though it was a little on the long side for me. I probably would have been more satisfied had I paid the matinée price.
The PG-13 rating didn't really affect me whatsoever. Aside from restricting the amount of times the f-bomb was dropped, I didn't really notice any glaring differences between the first Die Hard and this Die Hard in terms of what was on the screen based on the ratings. I'm pretty sure the first Die Hard could get by on a PG-13 rating today.

Hollywood is dumbing down their movies just to get the extra people to come to see their movie. For a die hard(pardon the pun) fan of the Die Hard series, that totally disgusts me. Die Hard is not meant to be a "teen" movie. The original was a movie made for adults to watch, not for the kids just entering High School. Die Hard went from being a badass film, to being a lame summer action flick. If I wanted to see the type of movie that was Live Free or Die Hard, I would have went and saw a Mission: Impossible move; or any other Tom Cruise movie at that.
It's not like I hate movies with big explosions, and mild violence either. I actually love those types of movies. If this was any other summer action flick, that wasn't named "Die Hard," I would have probably enjoyed it. However, this movie WAS a Die Hard film, and it absolutely ruined the series. The only thing that correlates between the original three Die Hards and this new movie is, the main characters name[John McClane.] McClane didn't have the same "attitude" nor the same mannerisms as he did in the past. This movie did not do that character justice.
It truly is a shame. I had extremely high hopes for this movie.Last edited by Double Eights; 06-30-2007, 06:54 PM.Comment

You must not have seen the original Die Hard in years. I watched it this morning, and I can tell you with 100% certainty, that the original Die Hard could never pass with a PG-13 rating.

Re: The new Die Hard movie is PG-13!!!
I thought it was pretty good. Not great, though. And it was obvious it was CUT for a PG-13. They didn't shoot it to be a PG-13 movie, it was edited that way for theatrical release. Some of the lines were clearly dubbed, and that was off-putting for me.
I'm hoping they release an unrated DVD, because that's the one I'll be waiting for. I'm not buying the theatrical release no matter what. The movie was fun, and the action was fairly brutal though somewhat cartoonish because characters wouldn't DIE when they should have died from suffering major trauma. Some of the death scenes were really cool though.Comment

Re: The new Die Hard movie is PG-13!!!
I liked it. Sure the plot was unbelievable and the PG-13ness was painfully obvious, it was enjoyable nontheless.
Although there were too many scenes of people falling/getting shot/whatever and not dying or even getting injured.Comment

Re: The new Die Hard movie is PG-13!!!
Kind of a weird question, but... I'm going to see this tonight with a buddy but I'm also trying to get my wife to go. She does not like action movies where it is a lot of guns and explosions, but she is somewhat considering this one because the Mac guy is in it. Is he in it a lot? Like as much as Samuel Jackson was in Die Hard 3? If he is, I can probably get her to go.
