I'm serious. Is there any doubt that this decent but not great band is by all accounts the single most overplayed group in music history?

In Bham...I have to hear "Rockstar" and "If Everyone Cared" about 10 times a friggin day...be it on the radio or at work. "Animals" is about the same.

If I hear Chad Kroeger's voice...it now makes me want to pull out a Mac-10 and go mow some people down.

I couldn't agree more! His voice is so "forced". You can tell he desperately wants to be like Kobain and forces that 'gravely' sound into his vocals.
Anytime I hear Nickelback I turn the station.
Nickelback = overplayed, overhyped.

I hate the fact that one of the great guitarist/songwriters of the "grunge" era, Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains, had to open for these guys a few years ago because they were on the same label. Nickelback isn't worthy to hold Jerry's spit cup, and certainly not have him as their opening act. Clear Channel has effectively killed free radio, though there are still some independent stations out there that don't play the same 5 songs every hour (CD101 out of Columbus, Ohio is one).

I can't remember the last time I saw them on XM, although I'm usually on 41, 46, 48, 49, and 54 for music.

I don't mind Nickleback too much, but I don't hear them much on Sirius. They must not come on the stations I listen to. I like some of their songs, but not many from the newest CD. I don't like that Everybody Cared song at all.

Thank god I dont listen to the fm radio (thank you apple and am radio), becuase i heard them once and that was enough.

I just have sports talk on usually, but i also hate Nickelback because they're overplayed.

Creed was even worse though. Every song the same plus Scott Stapp is a total tool.

Whenever I listen to FM radio, usually in between the commercials that last 8 minutes for 1470 The Ticket here in Toledo, I am pretty sure a rotation runs like this:

Nickelback
Rihanna
Akon

Repeat as necessary.

I have no problem with Nickelback....but on the subject of overplayedness

I like Daughtry...but the next time "Home" is on three radio stations at once I'm leaving my radio on the train tracks.

I like Nickelback and met the guys backstage, and they are cool to hang out with. Like their music, and their love for hockey.
