Actually theyre smart. They know what people will pay to see and listen too. I can pretty much guarantee they dont even like their own music, but Id play it to if I was making all the loot theyre making.

Smart or sell-outs? I know Chris Daughtry has basically said thats his major goal is to make a lot of money singing similar **** everybody else is doing. I would never claim that the guys in Nickelback are smart at all - sure, they might not like their own music, but I believe they're listening to whatever their label is telling them to do.

I don't see how they are sell outs. The music business is to make money right? If not don't pay musicians anything and lets see how many stick around "to do it just for the music." Not going to hate on someone in a capitalistic society for making money on music. I personally, and this is just my opinion they do like the music they put out, and are enjoying touring, and making tons of money. Even if I'm wrong I think they are smart to know what niche they can make money and fans with. I enjoy listening to music. Not critiquing it, and saying so and so is a sham and so is their fans, because they don't know good music. STOP HATIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You don't like it fine, but don't tell other people they are lazy and ignorant, because they like a band that you, or your social circle doesn't like.

The only one I have criticized is the band. I haven't said anything about their fans. Music is a business, yes, but its also an art form - one that should be critiqued. As an art form it should also flourish with its creative differences, rather than keep producing the same sounding songs across all radio stations. I understand that music is a business and I realize that a band's major goal is to make money, but I don't believe that should be their primary focus. I don't believe that in order for a band to become wealthy, they have to sound like another band because to me that is the label/marketing department being lazy. Music can be creative/different and good while still bringing in the money.

In Bham...I have to hear "Rockstar" and "If Everyone Cared" about 10 times a friggin day...be it on the radio or at work. "Animals" is about the same.

If I hear Chad Kroeger's voice...it now makes me want to pull out a Mac-10 and go mow some people down.

            Please go away Nickelback.

            End of rant.
