If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Just got back. Not really sure how I feel about but I did see "it" at the end. I was the only one of my friends that saw it though. Extremely intense from the first explosion.PS4: aBayBates

Re: J.J. Abrams Trailer - "Cloverfield"
Worst night ever...
Get into the movie, and I'm totally loving it. That is until this cold spell comes over me. I'm sweating horribly and getting sick to my stomach. A great time for my first ever case of motion sickness. I tried to tough it out 3 times but just couldn't pull through.
From what I saw it was awesome, I actually sat in the back of the exit area and listened to the rest of the movie while my friends watched. It sounded pretty awesome as well.
Lets hope the DVD or bit torrent copy (HINT HINT) won't make me motion sick.http://flotn.blogspot.com

Was the motion sickness really caused by the constant movement on the screen because of the first person video camera POV? I remember being irritated at times during the movie because everything was just a fast paced blur.Comment

Re: J.J. Abrams Trailer - "Cloverfield"
Yep that was it. It was a big stadium seating theater, and I've never had this problem before, not watching movies, not flying, not riding on a boat... anything. But the constant moving of the camera did me in tonight. I was so dizzy I couldn't stand it.
What I think it was doing was causing me to go into "migraine" mode as all my symptoms were heading that way. But every time I left the theater or sat down and looked at something that wasn't the screen all my sickness went away, so it had to be the motion, which really sucks, because I was really enjoying the movie.http://flotn.blogspot.com

Re: J.J. Abrams Trailer - "Cloverfield"
SpoilerThe only thing that bothered me was the length. I completely understand Reeves wanted to make it one DV tape (which is approx 60-65 min long) but I had originally assumed they were going to work in a tape switch in the middle and make it 120 or so min long.
Other than that it was really good. Didnt see the drop out of the sky in the end so hopefully a screenshot of that goes up. Blzer was right...it was more of an experience than a movie. It did not follow one traditional convention of filmmaking and I thought thats what made it so interesting. It was so realistically shot it was scary and amazing .

Re: J.J. Abrams Trailer - "Cloverfield"
So, turns out I lied in my impressions. I lied when I spoke of this movie's poor replay value... because I just spent another $10.25 tonight to see this movie again! They were all sold out except the screen with Spanish subtitles, and I just said, "You know what, **** it. I gotta see this movie again!!!"

Re: J.J. Abrams Trailer - "Cloverfield"
Ehh. Even for the "experience" I wasn't left saying wow. This feature was one of those where I just got sucked in by the hype.
SpoilerAt least a lot of people die, and no one's spared, so that was pretty realistic. The monster looked so different from the far shots, to the close up shot. The close up shot the monster looked pretty cheesy, though that's not a big deal to me.Comment
