I saw it this morning for $5. Went in with low expectations and it really wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting. I agree with what kerowack said. Cheesy but so was the cartoon. The one thing I really had trouble with is Channing Tatum. I think he's a horrible actor. Thought that when I saw just the trailer for that dance movie he was in a few years ago. Other than that, it wasn't all that bad. Rachel Nichols...wow. Between her and Christina Hendricks from "Mad Men," I'm starting to dig redheads.

Re: G.I. Joe movie
I thought the special effects were horrible. When they flew over that dessert to enter their secret base, the desert looked like Madden grass on the PS2. Ok, that's an exaggeration, but it didn't look good.
Also, that speed power-up was not pretty. It was just a white blob over the body."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Saw this last night. It's up there with Paul Blart as the worst movie of 2009. Terrible from start to finish.Comment

If you want to see a good GI Joe movie, check out GI Joe: Resolute. It's an anime movie that was on Cartoon Network earlier this year and is now on DVD.Comment

Re: G.I. Joe movie
This wasn't too bad, I saw much worse in 2009. I had some real stinkers come my way in 09........there were a few things I would have done differently. All my bitching about Marlon Wayans was for nothing as the dude was normal in this. I agree that they did go for an over the top aspect to the story.Comment

Re: G.I. Joe movie
On Topic: I thought the movie was alright, didn't have very high expectations for it and walked away neutral, however i must say the main character was STALE. For someone who can dance, he sure is a lousey actor. He acted like a cardboard cut out. The movie could of been 1% better if he wasn't the main characterComment

Re: G.I. Joe movie
This movie should've had much better special effects. That CGI was just a step above SciFi channel quality.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment
