That brings up another question. When did Minkowski get exposed to radiation and/or magnetic electricity? Didn't Daniel elude to this being a big factor in making these 'jumps'?

Wasn't Mrs. Hawking an "other" didn't we see her on the island. Is it possible that Ben or someone is trying to keep Desmond on his path by having people "jump" infront of Desmond and redirect him back on the intended path. Crazy thought, but just trying to make sense of Mrs. Hawking.

Or maybe it was "Jacob" going back in time to make sure Desmond gets to the island.

But I still believe the Losties were meant to be there. I think Jacob summoned them there. It seems like he's a prisoner more than someone in charge.

I think the time is the same.... Desmond was talking to the current Penny.... They aren't in 2007 until the bearded Jack flash forward..... Desomnd said he was gonna call her in 2004 also.... It's just that time on the island is different then outside, but that doesn't mean they are living in seperate time zones or like that... they even talk to each other on the satallite phone in real time.....

what I haven't seen mentioned yet was that Minkowski said he got "sick" from going on the boat to try to see the island.... and that Rousseau (sp?) said her crew got "sick" and died, and also the black rock crew got "sick" and died too...... I think it is the same kind of sickness.......

Nice find! I had forgotten about that. It also makes Penny's dad buying the Black Rock book even more intriguing. I think it's obvious that Widemore knows about the island and is probably employing Ben to some degree.

As far as Faraday's constant being Desmond, I would think he has a emotional attachment to Desmond because he is the person that made him realize his theories worked and that the "time travel" for lack of a better term, was possible. It validated all his work.

I sure am confused, but it is a good confusion. What makes this show so great is that it makes you think about it and once you think you are on to something they throw a wrinkle in there that blows your theory out of the water. Looking forward to next week.

Yeah, I don't know what to make of Jacob and the disappearing cottage and the other guy in the chair in Gilligan shoes. I say cut out the useless Losties and lets get on with the secrets of the Island. At this point I'll scream if I get a fluff episode about Jack or Kate.

Last random thought of the day.....

Do you think the Losties try to find out about the time travel ability and because they really have noone else to count on since being wrecked on the island, they make each other their "Constants" and somehow this is how we seem them intertwind in their flashbacks.

It might be even simpler in that Desmond is the only person he knows from the island and the past where he may or may not jump. And how do we know that Daniel didn't 'jump' when he got to the island but was saved after meeting Desmond?

In the end, I think the answer will be that "Lost" is actually a TV show produced by the Hanso group. The last episode will show the backdrops come down with Ecko and the pilot, and everyone else who's dead clap and take a bow.

not sure bout Rousseau, either she's special, had a constant, or it will be unexplained..... yea and who knows if it really is a disease and not the time travel thingy..... I guess it's something they will explain at a later time..... or maybe the hatch button thing was important that it released the radiation or something so the people who entered the island wouldn't get sick???

I just hope Jack can find a treadmill and do some running. He always seems to be out of breath so maybe he should hit more cardio to get in better shape.

Could this be the reason why Naomi had a picture of Desmond? To have a 'constant'?

I'm not ready to throw so much weight on this 'constant' stuff yet, because I think it only happens when people are exposed to large amounts of magnet electricity or radiation. And too many Losties, including the 'rescue team' don't seem to be suffering from the same effects Desmond did (effects that come on quickly and kill quickly too).

One last thing.
What do all of the 4 rescuers have in common?

Miles - talks to ghosts. We've seen lots of dead people walking on the island.
Redhead - Archeologist. Can study and identify artifacts from the past. The island seems to have a long history - 4 toed statue, Jacob, etc. Might also have some knowledge in identifying facts when people 'jump'.
Daniel - has been studying time travel or 'jumps'. Something that seems to occur to some people that connect with the island. Daniel might have already had a subconscious connection to the island, hence the reason why he cried when he first saw news of the wreckage (like his mind was already aware that he had met Desmond before it actually occurred).
Pilot - Not sure about this guy. He knew the pilot of Oceanic 815. Maybe the group that sent them there was hoping he'd die from the sickness as he was someone that noticed something wrong with the wreckage (no wedding ring on the pilot).

Well they were definitely brought together for a reason. I think there will be alot of valuable infor in that black rock log, especially if they wrote in it while on the island.

And if Ben knows how to jump back in time, he could have got Miles to make himself available for this mission. These people were compiled as a "dream team". I get the impression that they had no knowledge of eachother before the mission. The Black guy sought them out and assembled them. Who does he work for? Not Hanso. Hanso has more money than that. Its kind of a motley crew trying to do what they need to do. The freighter and its crew, the team assembled, seem relatively "low Budget" and rough around the edges.

I'm just glad that a lot of the explanations seem to be going through Desmond. I always felt he was the most important character, despite being introduced in Season Two.

He's the one that has someone looking for him and inspecting this anamoly. Without him I don't think the Losties ever get saved.
