I mentioned this a few pages back that the reason these people survived was that they had meet in the past and now were on the island together. They had people from the past and now future, so they had their constant.

I also mentioned that Rousseau had Alex, so as long as she doesn't jump to a time before she was pregnant, Alex is still there.

i don't think there IS a time difference on the island vs. the real world. The only time difference is the TRAVEL to and from the island. What people seem to have forgotten is that when they landed on the boat, Sayid asked the pilot something along the lines of "how is it that we left at dusk and land on the boat during mid-day?"

So it seems like even Sayid is confused at the time change from a flight that should take only 20 minutes.

I understand exactly what you mean. Desmond called 2004 Penny, but 2008 Penny is the one looking for the boat.

There is no 2008 Penny. The current year on the island is 2004.

I don't think so. Desmond had a 2 day leave to go visit Faraday. I think something else happened for him to go to military prison.

Hawking redirects here. For other uses, see Hawking (disambiguation). Eloise redirects here. For the rat, see Eloise (rat). Eloise Hawking, also known as Ellie, was a former leader of the Others and the mother of Daniel Faraday by Charles Widmore. While on the Island, she unwittingly shot a man who turned out to be her adult son, visiting from the future -- an act that forever changed her life. Eloise then helped Daniel's friends by trying to detonate a hydrogen bomb, in an effort to change...

according to them, she's not an Other.

She's not. At least as far as we know. That "sheriff" chick from the Jack's tats episode kinda looked like her, and I thought it was her, but it's not.

Just rewatched the episode. Does anyone else think that when Faraday beamed the thing at the mouse before sending it through the maze it seems oddly reminiscent of the sky turning purple when Desmond turned the key? If you have it DVR'd watch that part again.

So wouldn't there be a time difference if it's all of a sudden mid-day from dusk in a 20-minute ride?

We're talking sun coming down to afternoon sun. That's pretty much what the Losties felt on the Island. A full day of time passed by but for the people on the helicopter they were gone for 20 minutes.

I'm not sure I understand how that's not a time difference.

                    It does.

I really think there's too much untold for us to fully grasp this time travel thing. It isn't as simple as we want it to be. And there are far too many holes in the plot that still need to be filled before we can understand it.

The last time Desmond did his time travel thing and visted Penny and saw Charlie in the street was a travel to the past.Penny flying in that plane looking for Des.Now he went to the future or did he go to the past and then the future? This has me really confused? I need a Desmond time line!

In the most recent episode, Desmond jumped back-and-forth from the present to the past. He had no jump to the future.

The only glimpse of future seeing from Desmond is seeing Charlie die about a million times.*

*Seriously, If you rewatch all of Lost, Charlie has brushes with death many times.

What I'm saying is that people think time on the island is different from time on the outside world. But it was determined that xmas eve on the island is xmas eve out on the real world. So basically, something/somewhere between the real world and the island has the time anamoly.

In other words, the ppl on the island think that the helicopter left over a day ago, and the people on the boat (IMO) also thinks that the ppl on the helicopter left the island over a day ago. However, the people on the helicopter feels like it's only been 20 minutes b/c they traveled through this time/space anamoly between the island and the real world.

does that make sense? i'm sorry if i'm not explaining this well.

When Desmond visited Faraday in his flashbacks, all I could think of was Marty McFly visiting Doc in the past. I honestly thought Desmond would pull out his picture with Penny and see himself fading. All we need now is Huey Lewis, a hoverboard, and Desmond performing Johnny B. Bad.

Somewhat on topic, has anyone played the Lost video game yet?
