Re: ****Official LOST Season 4 Discussion (Contains Spoilers)**
Why should they care what happened to the island? The characters are acting as if the island being in a good state of being is important to the world, when no one even knows about it.
And I agree that if Jin survived the blast, Faraday could pick him up.
I assume the other island still counts as the island on a whole, becuase it was definatly gone when the island moved.
Back to Jin though, what is his purpose now? He got Sun off the island so she can have her baby. His task is done, and once that happens on this show, those characters seem to die soon afterward. I really think he's dead guys.
One thing that was absolutly tragic about this episode though, was that once Ben killed that military dude, had Locke and Ben known that they had freezed the battery, Locke could have put the monitor on himself and saved everyone on the boat. There's no way he could have known that the boat didn't explode when the monitor stopped, but I still yelled at the tv for him to put it on.
And I see what you're saying about Jin, but he could still serve some purpose. Sun has been using her time off the island in a fit of vengence. Jin ending up being alive could throw that for a loop and make her remorseful or worse, have her suffer consequences for the things she has done soon after being reunited with Jin.
The fact that they're going back to the island I think really opens the door for a few new story lines. What's been happening on the island since. What are the new relationships? Hell, whose left?Comment

Hell, whose left?
Sawyer
Juliet
Rose
Bernard
Vincent
Claire??
Jin??
Maybe some Red Shirts
Freighter Folk
Farraday (assuming his raft makes it back to the island)
Charlotte
Miles
The Others w/Locke as their new "leader"'
Am I forgetting anybody?Comment

Re: ****Official LOST Season 4 Discussion (Contains Spoilers)**
No, I think that's a pretty good list.
So there was no one else of importance that was killed on the ship (or supposedly killed) other than Michael and Jin? I wasn't sure if any of the other islanders that we've actually met got on to the freighter.
I think next season is going to be interesting to say the least. I look forward to seeing what took place on the island in the 5 years they were all gone.Comment

Oh, I can see it now. The Season Five finale cliffhanger.
Jack and the others find the Island. Sawyer runs up to them and says:
What the hell took you all so long. I've been sitting on this Island for 3 months waiting for you."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob NeyerComment

I would wonder how many babies have been made, but a women loses babies on the island that were conceived there...unless by moving the island it is now possible.
Now that's something to think about.Comment

I think it's five years right? Isn't that what it said in last years season finale when we first see Jack and Kate talking outside that airport?Comment

Re: ****Official LOST Season 4 Discussion (Contains Spoilers)**
It's been three.
The plane crash occurred in 2004. When Jack finds out that Bentham is dead it is 2007."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

After rewathching the last few episodes, ones thing for sure is that Kate is not made for HDTV. It looks like her front teeth were removed and 2 giant grey Chicklets were stuffed up there to take their place.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment
