my car has a cd and tape deck, so I just have one of the cassette tape adapters. I'm not sure what FM transmitter is better.

Don't go FM transmitter; It's one of the worst ways to enjoy audio in your car.

I bought a new radio w/ Auxilary Out. That way I dont have to deal with static and any sound distortion. You can get one a Best Buy for 100 w/ installation so I decided to do that instead of spending 50-60 bucks on a FM transmitter.

Pulled the plunge and got the 16 GB Touch with Shure SE110 earphones. I strongly considered the Zune but it's lack of availability and no web browsing turned me to the Touch. Best Buy has a sale with all Ipods 20 dollars off. Just a question, would it be a bad idea to open the Touch without a case yet? The only ones they had Best Buy were DLO brand and I'm leaning towards the Reflect or IClear.

I've been using my touch without a case and not a problem with the screen...the back metal of mine has some scratches, but that happens to all iPods (my old nano has the same thing). I'm not planning on getting a cover, I have a coworker who beats the hell out of his iPhone since release and hasn't gotten any screen scratches.

The cover is more so to protect the back of your iPod in case you're worried about resale value.

The iClear, for $15 at Best Buy... you can't go wrong.

If it's only for that, I might not get one. That's incredible that the screen doesn't scratch at all even though you have to touch it to use it.

Yeah...i haven't had any issues, and my co-worker has dropped his a bunch, taken it by pools, put it in his pocket with keys, etc. He's really rough on his gadgets. The back of my touch is all scratched up (side question, why doesn't Apple make a product that doesn't scratch on the back like crazy? after all these years? dumb, dumb Apple). The screen is fine though...I don't care about the back, and I'll be keeping this at least 3 years, so any resale won't be worth it that much. I like the sleek form factor more.

thought about that but my Nissan has the factor 6 disk changer. I wonder if they'd have any problem taking that out and installing what would be a smaller unit. see this one http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1184369165921

I had the same setup (6 disk on a Mazda) and bought the same radio, lol. They had no problem taking it out and installing it. You will probably have to play a little extra for a new kit but it should work.

Did you keep the same speakers and stuff? I've been tempted for a while to just get a new deck (don't want to spend a ton doing a whole new system, but my factory Saturn radio/cd/tape is pretty crappy). 100 bucks isn't bad at all

Yep, factory speakers. I waited for a free installation deal at BB and it only took a few hours for them to do. I havent listened to the radio in months now that I can hook my zune into it.
