Here's a trick:

Don't delete the songs from your collection. Simply create a new playlist called "ipod touch" and copy your entire collection of music into that playlist. Then, simply delete all the songs you don't want on the touch. No need to remove them from your library.

Or just uncheck the ones in your library you don't want on the iPod... or did I miss something?

Hmm, thanks, I'll try that for the rest of them. To be honest, most of the ones I dumped already just simply needed to be dumped, lol. I'll see how that goes. As dumb as it sounds, I kinda want to still use my 20 GB a little bit when necessary, like when we have parties and I don't feel like leaving my Touch out while its hooked to the stereo, so I want to be able to use iTunes for both of them, I just have to balance the library, even if that means manually managing everything at times.

You should be able to keep all your songs and have that sync to your 20GB iPod, while at the same time have a playlist with only the songs you want on your Touch. That's what I did for my iPhone.

That's what I did with my old nano, just had a big playlist of songs...now I'd probably make more playlists if I cared enough, but all my music fits onto the Touch (and I just have a workout playlist on the nano)

I doubt you'd want to go clicking and un-clicking hundreds of songs in your library. But you can do that too if you'd like!

once the songs are in my library, is there away to change the bitrate? i'd like to upgrade the sound quality. when I used to own iPod, i'd rip my cds to windows media player at 192 and then import them to itunes. is there a way to change the sound quality of mp3s that are on my HDD?

Unfortunately, I don't think there's anyway to raise the bitrate. There's always ways to lower it, but I think it's impossible to raise it without re-ripping the tracks.

I thought you were just referring to putting music on one iPod. In that case, it'd be the same as selecting the ones you want to delete, right? But here, he's got two, so I see the point of it now.

Nah I never said that they suck and I've always wanted one, I just don't buy into the Apple hype for all their stuff. Anyway, it's really nice the bad thing is that the black scratches way too easily. What kind of a case should I get?
