Exactly, this is what I've been attempting to convey in my posts.

Good points but I don't consider every indie film good just becuase it is artsy ( you are right though I think a lot of people do). In my opinion Juno and LMS are a lot more accessible to a mainstream audience as oppose to Garden State, Juno especially. I know for one Juno was a lot more advertised in my market than Garden State ever was. In the end I enjoyed all three films . Art is subjective and that is why I never base my movie choosing expiernce on film reviews.

My girlfriend wanted to see this for the longest time, finally had to go see it yesterday...was pleasantly suprised, wasn't bad at all.

Ellen Page is a damn fine actress, all I know...love J.K. Simmons too, his character along with the step-mom was tremendous.

I must one of the few who doesn't give a flying crap about what a movie is labeled as. Indy, Mainstream, whatever, whatever.

I go watch movies without worrying about any of that, or even thinking of it. I don't read up on hype or any of that.

I simply go see a movie because I think it looks good. I thought it looked good, so I went and saw it. I thought it was brilliant.

It seems to me that many of you people are going to see a movie with a label attached to it, and then judging it based on that predetermined label... That just seems pointless to me.

Agreed. Hell, I still don't think of it, even after people have been talking about it between my first and second viewings of this movie.

Go see it for being Juno, not for being an "Indie" movie.

                Re: Juno

Well the only reason I see movies that are "indie" at least a few times a year is because (as someone stated earlier), it seems like the scripts are a little less tainted by Hollywood. Juno, Little Miss Sunshine, and Everything is Illuminated are all great movies IMO that don't necessarily follow the Hollywood prototype and that's refreshing from time to time.

With that out of the way, I saw this tonight with my girlfriend and I really enjoyed it. I really enjoyed the sarcasm in Juno's character (I relate well, haha), and I couldn't stop laughing at some of the lines for some reason, namely her referring to FDR as "the hot one with polio", haha. Overall it was well worth seeing. One of my all-time favorites? No, but enjoyable and fun nonetheless, and I'd see it again.

I have a strange sense of humor because my favorite part of the movie was when Bateman and Garner were talking/arguing about the divorce and they hear a knock at the door; Bateman opens it and says "Looks like a Jiffy Lube bill"

I don't know why but that was just so random and how in the middle of the night she would drive all the way out there to leave a Jiffy Lube bill...

Only 3 people in the theater got that joke. we laughed about that for like 4 or 5 minutes. we would get quite and then the girl sitting 3 seats over (who i didn't know) would start snickering and then we all bust about laughing again. it was dumb but that was just a brilliant line.

My friend took me last night to see it. Didn't have any idea what it was about going into it, but was pleasantly surprised. It was a very good movie.

I was most impressed with the cast selection. I don't think they could've picked any better set of cast to fit those roles. Juno, Bleeker, the parents, the adoption parents....just fit to a tee.

I love Juno the character. Cute, sarcastic, witty...what more could you have wanted.

I was surprised that Michael Cera had very screen time though. I would've expected more.

was that really supposed to be a joke? I thought that the piece of paper was the note that Juno wrote on the back of a jiffy lube bill that she then gave to Vannessa which was framed on her wall at the end of the movie. the note said something like "if you're in, im still in."

Best movie I've seen this year. It was extremely charming and kudos to the casting director.

The movie was shot locally so it was neat to see places I've been to appear in the film.
