    Re: Juno

I thought it was pretty overrated. Ellen Paige's character really annoyed me after like 20 minutes. She reminded me of a young Jenine Garaffalo (or however you spell it). Her performance was great, but the character's sarcasm wore on me after a while. Still a good flick, but I don't think it was "Best Picture" worthy at all.

            Re: Juno

I ordered it on PPV this afternoon. I really liked the witty and sarcastic dialogue; Ellen Page did a great job as Juno. The casting was excellent, every character felt right. The only negative was that Michael Cera had very little screen time. He can be amazingly funny, so I would have liked to have seen more of him.

Overall it was a great movie, and well worth the $5 I spent on PPV.

I thought Juno was good, but I still think Garden State was better. Maybe I'm biased though, I'm a big Zach Braff fan.

Good movie. Ellen Paige did a great job. Juno was a very cool and likable character.

I hate the ridiculous slang and the snarkiness was sometimes a little fake-feeling, but the plot and the movie was definitely good. I'll always see her as Trina Lahey though...

I thought the dialogue was directly on-point with the slang school kids are throwin' out these days.

Does ANYONE really say "honest to blog"? Those kind of things felt so forced to me... like Dwight's dialog at the beginning... I just sort of shook my head at it. A lot of those rapid-fire responses (usually filled with that esoteric slang) felt way too movie-like... it was just a constant reminder that these are not real people.

If you get past that bit, it was a good movie and the characters seemed to have genuine and realistic feelings -- but the dialog still felt really false to me 90% of the time... the bombardment of counterculture band names fit the characters (Page and Bateman's characters anyway) but again felt too much like the directors saying "Ooh, let's get those Joy Division and Stooges fans talking about this movie. We're hip, I swear!"

The first 10-15 minutes was when all the ****ty slang was thrown in but after that it seemed to pretty much stop.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I thought overall this movie was a little too deliberate with what it was trying to be. It didn't seem like the quirkiness in the story and characters was a product of good art but rather it went out of its way to be quirky and different.

I thought this movie was highly overrated. I watched all of it but the last 15 mins when I someone called me and I didn't even want to go back and finish it. The plot was OK but like some people are saying, things were forced at times. Maybe it's because I have a hatred of teenagers in general though.

when i saw it in the theaters I loved it... I was aboard the hype train for sure... when it came out on DVD, I bought it, and then watched it again... and I honestly have no idea why I loved it so much. It wasn't bad... far from it... but I definitely overrated it when I saw it in the theaters... although I took my girl to see it, and we both enjoyed it a lot TOGETHER so that could be why I made it out to be better than it was in my head. lol.

It was a pretty decent movie, had very good acting and some real emotional impact to it but nothing all that extraordinary. Honestly I think this movie getting touted so highly goes to show not how great this movie is but rather how poor most movies in general are in regards to the writing and acting.
