Re: Heroes (NBC, Mondays @ 9PM) Season 2 (SPOILER WARNINGS WHILE LIVE/WEST COAST)

Amazingly, that was a really satisfying finale. When (if) the show comes back, I hope they stick to the whole "Heroes vs the Company" storyline because that's what made the first season great. All the other side storylines are just noise and take time away from the most interesting part of the show - unraveling the Company's role, who they are, what they want, etc.

Also, Elle is so hot. I never thought I'd say this, but she has surpassed Claire in my eyes.
    Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.
Dash: [muttering] Which is another way of saying no one is.

There's just something about Kristen Bell. She can be sassy one second, hot the next, then sexy, naughty, funny what have you.

Also, big cheers to The Company for opening Pandora's box. Whatever that may be, it sounds awesome.

Thinking about Adam in the casket. Eventually he runs out of air, and dies...and keeps being revived only to die of lack of oxygen for eternity? Wow, that's a horror story you hear about someone in hell (lifting rocks for eternity, etc). Perpetually suffocating would be horrible.

Its a tough debate. I think Claire is better looking but she's too innocent and young for me to look at without feeling guilty. I don't have that problem with Elle.

As for Adam. Being buried alive has to be a nightmare for anyone.

It could turn out that as he continues to die/revive that he evolves past needing oxygen to live lol.

              - Who was in the coffin prior to Hiro putting Adam in there? It's obviously Hiro's father's gravesite, but they don't usually just bury empty coffins underground.

              - What's pandora's box? The room that Peter opened where they found the virus? Or the fact that they've now angered Peter, who is going to come after the Company for killing his brother? Or something else?

              - I also think HRG shot Nathan.

              - I agree that it's more about the way Kristen Ball acts, in comparison to how Hayden acts. Bell is just....saucy.

              - Is there a worse character on the show these days than Mohinder? Changes his motivations at the drop of a hat, and makes illogical and stupid decisions left and right in every episode. I guess he highlights the difference between being "book smart" and "street smart," as he's clearly an idiot when it comes to anything not relating to science. I was really hoping they'd kill him off last night because he's annoyed me for weeks on this show.

I agree. He's as trusting as a 5 year old and has no spine. I really liked him last year but he's been an idiot this year.

In my opinion...that was probably the best episode this show has ever had, and the best 43 minutes of television I have seen in awhile. Everything about it flowed well, even the scenes with the New Orleans' girl and that whole storyline.

It was just an amazing episode of, not only Heroes, but TV as well. Sylar being back next season, whenever it happens, is going to be absolutely amazing. Maybe we'll finally get the Sylar Vs Peter fight everyone wants to see.

am i the only one that did not like the finale then? i mean talk about dumbing down characters to get epic endings, they made peter turn into a 6 year old. here he is with someone who he barely knows at all telling him what to do, and everyone who has saved the world and that he knows more thoroughly are telling him that he is on the wrong side and he believes adam? i mean why would you untie someone who tried to kill you? and then when he admitted to killing hiro's dad peter being the gullible first grader he is opened the door for him anyway and turned his back while adam went into there not knowing or even caring what he would do next? since i never quit on a show, i will see it through the end but come on people at least make the story believable.

Lol, no you're not and I agree with your post. My thought after watching the finale was "They're all useless!" All those damn powers, for nothing.

Did you miss when he believed Nathan?

That's Peter's character...it's not dumbed down at all. He's confused, he's easily impressionable, he's misguided at times and he rushes into things without thinking. He thought he was doing the right thing with Adam, he thought Adam wanted to destroy the virus, Adam saved Nathan for Peter...it was all planned, not "dumbed down."

I don't think there was a single problem with the conclusion of this season.

It made me forget how bad Season One's conclusion was last year.

The only issue I have is what I liken to Pandora's Box (though not in the same context that the show may be looking at). Can anyone really be dead now that Heroes can just use Claire's blood to be revived?

I'm afraid that could eventually result in a tower of cards slowly tipping over. Once you rid a show of the element of death you lose a lot of motivational suspense.

Like Nathan being shot. I'm not that emotionally attached to him being shot in the chest. It's obvious that he'll come back.

And I can't celebrate in Nikki's death because I just wonder if perhaps she's merely burnt into toast and some of Claire's blood (which was going to be used to help her get rid of the virus) will be used to revive her.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

                            Buuuuut...

Mohinder lost all of Clarie's blood and Claire thinks her father really wants her to keep her powers quiet.

So, that does add in the element that maybe, just maybe, they won't revive everyone.

But, come on, it's Claire. Do you seriously think they'll let her stay quiet? And what's to say that these mass killings (oh, my father just got shot in the chest, you say?) won't provoke her to "do what's right."

Yeah, it's a pipedream but I hope to God they don't stop reviving everyone. As you said - that takes away an entire element of the show.

However, you also have to look at it from the creators/writer's side. You kill of a favorite character, don't bring him back, people get pissed and tune out because "You have the opportunity to bring him back! Why didn't you?! He was my favorite character!"
