This is one of the songs off Patrick Stumps EP called Truant Waves coming out next week..

"Cute Girls"

He'll have a full album coming out in the summer. As different as it sounds from all the FOB stuff, I like it. You can easily tell he was influenced by Michael Jackson growing up.

Influenced by Michael, but sounds like Timberlake. Maybe he should have been in Nsync instead of Fall Out Boy.

Re: The "Other" Music Thread

This week has been amazing for announcing summer releases for me.

First off, City and Colour with a new album called "Little Hell" releasing in June.

Secondly, and more importantly...

The Dear Hunter's highly anticipated collection of nine EPs entitled THE COLOR SPECTRUM will be released June 7 on Triple Crown Records in a variety of formats. Pre-orders will be available starting in March.

THE COLOR SPECTRUM consists of songs inspired by the colors of the spectrum, specifically RED, ORANGE, YELLOW, GREEN, BLUE, INDIGO and VIOLET, with WHITE and BLACK being included as bookends.

THE COLOR SPECTRUM will be released in the following formats:

-Full Length CD: Includes select music from each EP compiled on one full length CD. Also available as a digital download.

-Limited Edition Deluxe Vinyl Box Set: Nine 10" vinyl records available as a Box Set, which includes all music from THE COLOR SPECTRUM and a digital download of all the music. Available only through mail order via Triple Crown Records’ website.

-Full Length Vinyl: Same as CD, but full length vinyl features songs from each EP of THE COLOR SPECTRUM. Available exclusively through Hot Topic and on the band’s upcoming tours.

-Individual digital versions of each song and EP from the entire collection of THE COLOR SPECTRUM will be available.
That vinyl box set WILL BE MINE. I don't care what it takes, I shall get it.

By the way, the album art is what my avatar currently is.

By the way, Patrick Stump's EP Truant Waves was released on Tuesday. Only six songs but really loving it. Can't wait to hear the full length "Soul Punk" releasing sometime this summer.

These guys are from Duluth. The banjo player is one of the first people I met when I moved to Duluth for school, so it's nice to see these guys getting bigger. They're playing at Cochella this year. They need to surpass Low as the biggest band from Duluth because Low is incredibly boring.

Yeah. They're really something to see live. Glad to see them getting some national recognition.

Agreed. She also was in a song on A Day To Remember's "Homesick" album, very cute. Ha. VersaEmerge is good though, I've had an eye on them for a few years. My friend showed me them, he claims he discovered them.

Gotta show love for Funeral for a Friend. I think they're a pretty big band over in the UK, where they're from (Wales, actually), but don't get too much play here and it's a shame. With their new release (due out 3/14/11), they're going back to their 2003 album roots. Drummer screamer is backkkk. I wish they'd come to the States, I don't really go to concerts but I would to see FFAF.

Bayside just released an album, I'll have to give it a listen through. "Sick, Sick, Sick" is good from what they prereleased. Sounds like typical Bayside, they never change. Which I do like about them.

Being a Drummer for more then 30 years my favorite type of music is Progressive Metal. Not only is it technically demanding, it's physically demanding as well.
Thanks to an Itunes suggestion I discovered this band, Pagan's Mind in October of 2010. They are an incredibly talented group of musicians.

From 2007's God's Equation Album

This is brand new, just debuted March 2nd on the Metal Madman show. From the upcoming album Heavenly Ecstasy , Intermission.

Finally was able to listen to the new Kills album Blood Pressures in its entirety. I like it, but there's two tracks on the album that seriously does not fit with the rest. It kills the flow of the album. But the awesomeness of Nail in My Coffin and Future Starts Slow makes up for it.

Which two songs? I dig Wild Charms and I think it makes DNA even better with that nice, smooth transition. The Last Goodbye goes good with Baby Says and then creates a trilogy of sorts with the final three songs. I really love the flow of the album and I think once the greatness of the lyrics settle down with the modern 50's greaser and surfer instrumentation, it will be a solid lock for top 5 album of the year.

IMO i think its more of where Wild Charms sits in the album sequence. The first four songs build on each other peaking with Nail in My Coffin, then it just drops so many levels once Wild Charms comes on. I do agree that it goes well with DNA, but where it sits on the album is where i have issue with. For Example if Pots and Pans/You Don't Own the Road followed Nail in My Coffin and then it went into the Wild Charms/DNA combo i don't think the change would have bothered me like it does now.

Despite all that i still enjoy all the songs on the album, its just how its set up is where i have issue with. I'm sure its going to be one of the tops of the year for me.
