Drugs have ruined a lot of lives in this world and at some point it probably has affected a family member or friend. jake44np it could be your sister, mother, your own child. This is a sad case but to make a mockery out of someones failures is not cool. My Stepfather ruined our family, we lost everything, home, my sisters and I were split up because of this. He tried so hard to kick the habit and just could not. He cared it just the drugs consumed his mind and his will to win the battle. I still love the man to death because he would admit no matter how hard he tried he just could not overcome and admitted it. He went to rehab at least on 5 occassion and got cleaned but if something negative happened he easily fell back into his drug desease. Did that mean he did not care?

Just buried my 1st cousin in Feb 2008. She volunteered and went to rehab over and over. But by your remarks jake44np i guess my cousin did not care about her self so why should anyone else.

Buried another cousin who died from complications from Aids due to intravaneous use and I can't tell you how many times she cried to me, not asking for money but just to talk about how the craving just drove her nuts.

So go ahead and make your jokes and demeaning remarks if that's how you feel, because a lot of times what goes around comes around. Making jokes about someones sickness is not what Operation Sports is about. If it is as of recent let me know so I can step away from OS because I expected a little more respect for human life. And let me mention i have been guilty of being out of line from time to time so if this is the case I truly understand. Peace!!!!

I have uncles who are alcoholics and a couple cousins who were on drugs but are clean now but they chose to start taking the things that they are(or were) taking. Do you know if she chose to use drugs the 1st time, do you know if she was at a party and someone slipped her something, have we always known this ****** mental state? How/when did she start jmood88? The immatureness of this thread making and predicting someones death is the problem I have. Not saying this is what happened to her but hell I have heard of parents having their young children taking drugs as crazy as it may sound so in all reality we don't know. I have seen 8-9 year old kids who are lookouts, sell drugs and it's because of the environment they are in and do these kids have a chose or know better? Maybe in their mind it is a way of life. Do they deserve what they get in life? Do these kids no any better? I don't know. jmood88 everyone's situation is a case by case. We are all at times so quick to judge someones character. Predicting someones time of death and making jokes is not funny and I find it pretty sick. To each his own I guess.

We all come from different backgrounds me myself was raised in the hood where money was not in bundles and people turned to drugs for numerous reasons. Let me ask you this jmood. Is depression a desease? If the answer is yes, could someone turn to drugs since they have this depression desease as a cure?

No offense, but this is ridiculous. Getting dosed with GHB isn't going to make you a cocaine or heroin addict.

Except you don't choose to get depression. Depression happens. You don't have to call 18 times at 4:15 on a Tuesday morning to get depression. Drug addiction is a disease to people who want to act like it's not their fault. If it helps them quit, then use it, but otherwise, it's an addiction. Few other diseases can be cured early by taking away a cell phone or not going to a certain neighborhood.

I don't know if you're just referencing "suicide" by way of drug overdose, but there are plenty of situations to feel sorry for someone who commits suicide.

Yeah, and I mean... most people that fail attempting suicide realize they don't want to do it anymore. I'm guessing most jumpers, unfortunately, regret their decision in midair.

I'm not going to say anything about this chick except that she looks terrible. She'll probably die very soon if not before 2009, but I'm not going to involve myself in a pool for when she does. That's just sad.

You know DookieMowf I expected a little more respect from you seeing you have been on these boards for a while. It just saddens me that even though it shows several people have been offended by this thread it continues. Let a EA rep come on this thread and complain about this being disrespectful and it would have been closed.

Not that anyone cares, I'm done with OS posting. From time to time over the last several years I have posted although some disagreed with me never have I stooped to a level of this type of mockery. And when someone felt offended I always made sure it ended on mature terms. Any doubters ask Dkrause,or Illustrator how I handle diasgreements.

I've come on here to help fellow O'sers score games early, I've come on here and helped FKings get the game early so we all could enjoy rosters for our enjoyment, and I've voiced my opinion about different topics but never have I continued to crack jokes or degraded anyone after I see that something is very offensive.

I will continue to frequent the boards for info but as far as voicing my opinions or posting, I'm done. I wish OS continued success because for the most part you guys are great and a great source of info. I just never thought it would stoop to this level where bet's on someones death becomes a laughing/joking matter. Peace!!!!

JSKYWALKER1 you've been here for some time (I assume years per your post) Dookie is known for being a tad, shall we say off the wall. Have you seen the news stories he posts in the OS Neighborhood section? I know that you and others may feel a bit offended by some of the comments and sometimes I wonder about some comments on here but i've learned that for the most part no one is being 100% serious on some of these topics unless it's explicitly said. I'm not going to tell you to grow thicker skin but try to let things roll off your back a little more.

When you're a celebrity as Ms. Winehouse is you leave yourself open to this kind of ridicule and mockery especially if you're a celeb that's sliding down the slopes of Mount Oblivion.

Well that's my .02 cents on that. I hope you don't take any offense to what I just wrote.

It's not just one thread. The overall atmosphere on OS has gone downhill.

A lot of older users have stopped posting because of it. These ADHD-ridden, internet cool posters are becoming more numerous as time goes on and OS becomes more popular.

Comes with the territory. Mods do a great job of keeping things clean for the most part. Either way, at this point the posts in the thread are being made in bad taste IMHO.

if you do drugs and then die from them, good riddance. its like me playing russian roulette with myself and pulling the trigger and blowing my brains out. is anyone really going to feel sorry because i am making an idiotic decision?

its not like companies or the public make it a secret that you can get addicted to drugs and die. as soon as you pick it up and do it the first time, they should just consider it suicide. i can see people getting offended because they are making jokes about amy or what ever drug addicts they are talking about, but feeling sorry for someone committing suicide is a joke to me.

I think the point is that addiction is a disease, and trust me I have seen it first-hand.

I've lost 2 close friends to drug overdose and twice helped them pull through.

One of the ones who pulled through was found by me. I had to recessitate him and induce puking and its the roughest thing I'd ever had to go through.

Winehouse is a mess and its sad, but she has a problem that is hard-wired in her brain. It isnt a choice at this point.

I can't speak for him but I think it's just a culmination of things. The "straw that breaks the camel's back" so to speak or some other cliche you can think of.

I would feel sorry for her if she seemed to be trying but when you make a song bragging about not going to rehab and you keep doing the same **** over and over again you get no sympathy from me.
