Re: What has been your scariest video game moment that you can remember?

    Resident Evil 3.

Running away from Nemesis(had no Herb or Health Sprays)I thought running thru the Doors into the next room/part of the game would get him to stop chasing me, since that was normally the case with Zombies. Next thing I know, I hear "STTTTAAAARSSSS!!!" in the background out of nowhere and see a big *** monster in a Trench Coat chasing after me.

Mind you this was while playing at 3AM in the house by myself when I was like 12 or 13 downstairs where you could see from any other room. Soon as I was done with the game for the night, I ran upstairs to my room, locked my door and put those covers right over my head like a little bitch.

You guys have all inspired me to play the RE and SH series. Could never get into them because of the controls. Can you play PS1 games on the slim PS3?

Ditto lol...that exact moment in the game scared me and I was also around 11 at the time. I had a sleep over with my friends to play the game and we were crazy playing it around midnight haha...not the best idea.

The Dunwich Building in Fallout 3... Its a Haunted building in the Capital Wastelands. Went in there once, scared the crap out of me, never going back.

                Mine are pretty lame.

I found the morgue on Arkham Asylum fairly creepy. All the freezer doors opening and closing and the sounds were weird. I was like "screw this!" and went through the door to leave and Bam! you're in the morgue again. At that point I decided I was freaked out.

Also in RDR, I was on edge walking around Tumbleweed for the first time, and the abandoned mansion didn't help.

And I'm a little girl for admitting this, but the very last time I played RDR, I was walking through the forest after i beat the story and I saw a beaver so I shot it. I heard a growl, turned around, and was annihilated by 4 or 5 bears. Not quite sure why, but that event scared me to the point of never playing that game again.

I know you posted this a long time ago, but I agree.

There were several moments in the original Resident Evil that scared me, but I was really young when it came out.

Re: What has been your scariest video game moment that you can remember?

My moment wasn't entirely gaming based...

So I was in college, late at night ,playing 'Eternal Darkness'. Now, it was a very suspenseful game, lots of little tricks (save didn't load, memory card error, etc) that were put there to deliberately play with your mind. I'm going along, minding my own business, my character's sanity meter is a little low...and then I start hearing a loud crashing/crunching sound. Spooked, I keep going forward, thinking "oh, it's my game, and damn these sound effects ROCK on my home theater system". I pass a couple plot points, start wandering down the halls, and then BOOM, happens again.

At this point, I'm pretty ******* spooked. I take a break, pause the game, do a little shake, check on my girlfriend, and go get a drink. I look out the open kitchen window, and see...

                    Spoiler

I then relax, turn off the game after I save, and go to bed.

Props to you Silicon Knights! You made a greatly immersive game and generated an experience I'll never forget. Too bad you had to follow it up with that pile of crap known as 'Too Human'.

[I don't count the MGS: Twin Snakes as it was a port. Though it was pretty great.]

One of my 2nd cousins bought the Blair Witch Project video game and decided to play it with the lights off. Needless to say, I left.

The Max Payne Blood Trail and the dogs in RE1.

I need to play Dead Space, though.
