I saw it at the theatre I work at last night; I am happy with what I got out of it. I had some reasonably high expectations and was not at all disappointed. The movie has some spots where things are kind of slow (part of the pacing I understand), but the suspenseful parts are rather sweet. There were numerous jump out scary parts that got me good. Smith is great as always and the ending is fitting; overall it's more of a psychological zombie movie rather than action-packed one. I recomend it.

Sweet, I can't wait to see it this weekend.

I have but one request from hollywood....

NO MORE CGI ZOMBIES, ETC. IN MOVIES...EVER!!!!!

The zombies in this movie look so "CGIish" that it really takes you "out" of the experience.

What would really have been wrong with gettnig Stan Winston to do some nice creature effects on REAL people?

I'd challenge anyone to think that the zombies in I AM LEGEND are nearly as frightening as the sprinting zombies of 28 Days/Weeks later.

CGI has its place in movies, but this complete move to it for creatures that are much more believable with makeup annoys me.

Thoughts?

CGI period is annoying. It's the worst thing that has ever happened to movies. Yes, I said it.

I don't know why studios think that CGI is better than hiring a really good makeup team. Imagine if Michael Jackson did Thriller with CGI zombies. Meh!

But I've read several reviews complain about the horrible looking CGI zombies. So I'm expecting it. I was hoping it wasn't as bad as they made it seem to be but you've confirmed their words. Oh well, I guess it's just something we have to deal with as viewers.

I know that if I ever had the chance to direct a big budget film I'd be against CGI. I'll say it right now and you can quote me in the future if I'm ever so lucky. I would reject any movie that required CGI. It's awful and ruins the experience.

CGI and CGI zombies are two different things. Without CGI, you wouldn't have movies like Transformers...

And with good CGI you can't even tell the difference, the only way you can tell is if the scene it's in is too unrealistic.

Ok, to be fair, I understand your point.

CGI is a necessary evil for some movies.

I don't expect people to wear giant Robot suits.

I'm not a fan of CGI at all when used improperly. A perfect example that still bothers me to this day (yes, I wake up in the morning and it's my first thought. Always ruins a bright sunny day) is Matrix Reloaded. The scene with a hundred Agents fighting Neo. So unnecessary to go totally CGI with Neo doing his martial arts moves. So, so unnecessary.

I think the only person that would make the movie watchable for me is Shia LaBeouf because he's a true talent.

But it's a Michael Bay directed film and Bay is pure garbage. I already know this. I'm not going to spend two hours of my life confirming that understanding.
