I thought he was pouring out ammonia so the dark walkers would lose his scent and thus not be able to find his safe house...

Edit: Seeing Will Smith with gray hair makes me feel old.

I thought it was either ammonia or bleach and it was clear that he did it so that they would stay away from his house since at the end when he realized that Ana brought his bleeding body back to the house he knew that they were able to follow him. They were able to track them because of the blood and because she didn't wait until dawn to go back to the house

Okay, this has been bugging me.

The scene where Smith and his dog are chasing the deer and the deer runs into the darkened warehouse and the dog follows (that was scary). Smith is searching inside with his flashlight and shines the light into a room where it appears these naked, from the waste up, infected men are in a circle.

WERE THEY DOING WHAT I THOUGHT THEY WERE DOING?

I'm not quoting all that, but 30 Days of Night, as crappy as it was, was more enjoyable to me than I am Legend.

Been a terrible fall for movies.

I thought the acting wasn't that great in 30 Days, + you said Terrible and Awful a few times from what I remember on 30 Days. LOL! I guess to each his own.

My guess would be ammonia, as bleach would have messed up his jacket.

It looked to me like they were either praying, worshiping something, or another guess is feeding on something. I thought at first that some were feeding on an animal.

I kinda agree with EG, I wouldn't pay my money to go see this one again. Too many holes in the story and that's the reason for the discussion. Too many unanswered questions. I was sitting in the theatre saying the same thing to a buddy of mine while we were watching it.



I'm also surprised none of you mentioned Martin's new movie in the previews... no one wants to see that one?

Is everyone so sure there wasn't a night between when he went to the music store and when he saw Fred? And I believe the movement wasn't real but a hallucination.

There was a night in between. The day that Sam got infected and Fred was moved was on his birthday so the infected moved it during the night.

That's my issue though. Earlier that day, we saw Fred standing outside the video store, Will Smith said hi to him as he walked in. Later, he's standing on the other side of the city. Now if it's imagined, that's fine, but then we shouldn't have still saw Fred laying there after Smith shot him up. Fred was moved as a trap IMO. Just the producers/director moved the scenes too fast, leading to that plot hole.

You just weren't paying attention, it was a completely different day. The day he said hi to him was when he went to pick up the movie. He didn't go back to the store until after Sam was dead.
