My disinterest has nothing to do with TC, the story itself does not interest me, I'll check it out on DVD, maybe....

I could understand if you weren't interested in the movie because of Cruise, but to not be interested in the retelling of the plot to kill Adolph Hitler and take over the SS Army, which would have ended the European portion of World War II a year early, is almost mind-boggling to me. This event would have altered history greatly. How many lives would have been saved? Would it have also led to the surrender of Japan saving those people from having two Atomic bombs dropped on them?

The historical significance of this story is astronomical. I simply don't understand how someone could not be interested. But, I guess that's the way it is. No offense. You like what you like and are interested in things that interest you. I'm just amazed this story brings with it no interest.

Since you asked HUGE movie fan. As I explained in another thread, I have seen about 5-15 movies a week, for the last 30 years. Seen all types of films, actually running out of ideas on which movies to see since I have literally seen all I am interested in seeing not a fan of horror or "chick flicks" but love most everything else, this just does not cut it for me, seen the previews and  I would rather watch Quantum of Solace again

I will probably see it, but the biggest negative for me is the "known outcome". I am interested in the subject matter having researched it some more on Wikipedia (YES-WIKIPEDIA!!!), but not sure how I will feel about the movie.

SS Army? The army wasn't fully incorporated into the SS until early '45 when they were completely running out of civilians to put out there to slaughter. Sorry i'm nitpicky.

As for the release date, yes it's totally out there but most movies of this type that are released around Christmastime are usually done so for Oscar consideration.

Yes, the "fresh on your [Oscar voters] mind" theory.

Just saw the movie. It was wow. I had no clue of the story which was never told or spoken about in any of my history classes. The characters and story were top notch. Tom Cruise like always, an amazing actor.

If this rebellion had suceeded so much would of been different. Even though I knew o the out come of the movie, i was rooting for them to win. Definitly a movie that has to be watched to be understood
