I'd rather spend all our money figuring out how we can develop robots that can dig into the frozen lakes of mars and run some sort of testing to see if the samples contain any elements of microscopic life. Even if it was primitive life from millions of years ago, it answers the age old quesiton-

Yes, life has the ability to exist on other planets. Mathmatically, if life once existed on a planet within our Solar System, then there is essentially a one hundred percent chance life currently exists among the trillians of other planets in the universe.

I think the more likely place to find life is Europa. That place has carbon dioxide and TONS of water. Some have speculated that there may be lots of life teeming in the Europan waters.

I think generally speaking, people would freak out.

The end-result of this freak out has been toned down over the years thanks to the overabundance of alien material we see today. If this was 1950, people would go bananas. I think today, people would just freak out.

And since we're still edgy about outer space life, any information regarding it's existence will remain on the down low. We aren't prepared to handle that news just yet.

This is going to sound conspiracy-like, but I think it's important to note that we still get a mix of friendly alien life vs. violent alien life in movies. But, pay attention to these movies. Whenever an alien is threatening it is portrayed as different, as a monster. It looks different and behaves differently. The more human they look and behave, the more friendly they are. If they are friendly and different looking then they over-do the friendliness - almost as if to calm us down (see: MIB).

I can't recall a friendly alien that expressed real human emotions like anger.

I think the closest we get with a human looking alien that expressed emotion is Mork from Mork and Mindy.

But even then, that emotion was clouded in comedy - an easy tool to relax people. You could never feel threatened by Mork, even if he was "angry" about a particular situation. Most of the time, it was never interpreted as anger. We just assumed he didn't know any better because he was confused. So we laughed.

I'm not trying to say that this is done on purpose. That's why I wanted to point out that it's going to sound conspiracy-like. That was my warning that it's not my intention. It's probably more of our perceived perception of alien life or even deeper, what we hope.

My take on the govt control...
Its like when you were a kid, if your parents saw something really unexplainable, did they tell you all about it or tell you to go to your room and they didnt see anything. They avoid the topic. Even though you can see the fear in their eyes.

What would we do if we confirmed aliens?
what would that do the dominate religions in the World (im not religious but i know the cathlic church recently said, "dont discount aliens they could be one of gods creations."(read on a news site but cant confirm with a link)

I dont think people are even close to being able to handle aliens. Many people can, but not the general public.

Thats not to say i believe in aliens, i just like theory. I also think people are stupid, so govt trying to control things isnt to far outta reach to me.

As for cebby.... wow that would be a waste to investigate peoples sightings. Unless its a massive sighting,(lights over phoenix). Thats sighting had everything from cops to city council people talking. Those are worth asking questions. Even though you will NEVER confirm alien sightings.

The exact same can be said for ghosts. Thousands of annual reports from highly "busy" places like scottish castles, and yet none have ever been officially documented? Please. Don't you ever wonder why the government has not really invested money into looking at such things, leaving organizations like TAPS to discover weird **** on their own. As for religions, they would do what they always do, keep stretching their bs to concide with the latest scientific and technological findings.

1. You're dealing with thousands of claims a year ranging from Maine to Florida to California to Washington. You'd probably need a few thousand employees at least, and you'd still be racking up ridiculous travel costs.

2. Each and every employee would have to have the highest security clearance to ensure any sighting wasn't an experimental aircraft or weapon. This would require the investigative unit to have an absurdly high payroll.

3. Every claim would have to be thoroughly investigated, since this meth addicted redneck could be the guy who really saw a UFO.

The US Gov't has an extensive black budget program that's been covering this stuff for decades.

- Secondly, a lot of folks within the expolitics and disclosure realms are convinced that the Obama administration will be the first US Admin. to fully acknowledge and disclose the existence of Extra-Terestrial life on this planet. I'm not denying that a black budget exists since it obviously does.

I just don't believe they're wasting a ton of money on investigating aliens.

I think if we're sinking hundreds of billions of dollars into the black budget, it's far more likely to be going to Lockheed to build us a Flying Death Machine of Terror than it is to look for aliens.

How many light years away is one of those potential life supporting planets?

I don't doubt there could be life somewhere, but actually getting to eachother could be a chore.

It's very possible that 2 life supporting planets could be in the same solar system somehwere and contact would be commonplace.

There a billions of planets and being able to get to one that has advanced life probably won't happen with human technology for numerous reasons. I tend to doubt Aliens could get here either.

I agree with the first part but the 2nd part not so much so. Remember we're just babies in the grand scheme of things. There must be other civilizations millions of years older then we are who has technology that would look like magic to us.

It's a worldwide cover-up. Not just the US.

The governments are working together. Russia, France, England are just a few that want this to be out. But they won't do it without the US's permission.
