My friends 80 GB keeps freezing. Every time you try to listen to music or watch a video it freezes before anything starts. Should he send it back to Walmart?Eagles, 76ers, Phillies, Arsenal FC, Wildcats, Vols

For those that have a FM converter, what kind of sound are you getting?
I got a good deal on the microsoft converter, so I was expecting good sound, but it really isnt that great. Is that to be expected?
I've run through all of the stations trying to find the best sound, but it sounds very crappy, to the point i'm probably not going to use it at all.
Just wondering what kind of setup the rest of you may have.Comment

It's decent, but not spectacular. I did like the sound of the movie I converted over, but for music quality it was manageable. For those that have a FM converter, what kind of sound are you getting?

Re: ***Zune 2 4/8/30/80gb Discussion***
There's a website (I think it's ipodmods.com) that has a tutorial on how to swap out the battery in the Zune 30's. It does void out the warranty of course.
My Zune that is only about 5 weeks old is giving me some probs. It does'nt recognize being plugged into the computer or the AC power now therefore I can't sync the device or charge my battery. It also will reboot all by itself at times. I'll be playing a song and then all of sudden, the music dies and I notice the Zune rebooting itself. It does'nt do this all the time but when it does, it will reboot itself 3 or 4 times in a 4 hour period.
I bought it from BUY dot COM.
Does anyone know what there return policy is ??? Very frustrating but I do have my Ipod Touch to fall back onXBL Gamertag: hoos4974

Re: ***Zune 2 4/8/30/80gb Discussion***
I got one of these for my mother for Christmas. I like it. For me, the solution to tagging songs was just to name everything in iTunes first, and then open the Zune software afterwards. Since iTunes lets you name several tracks at a time, it's a pretty fast fix. The nice thing about the Zune software is how fast and easy it is to get music onto it.Yep, I kind of like the software, but I'm not completely sold on it. I like the interface, but the one thing I'm not a huge fan of is how it reads some of the songs. I'll have an "album" and it breaks up each song in the album because the artist changes even when the album will still have the same name. For example, I could have Joe Budden-Hiatus and it will come under Mood Muzik 3 by Joe Budden like it's supposed to. But then if I have Joe Budden ft Emanny-All of Me, it comes under Mood Muzik 3 by Joe Budden ft Emmany, which it translates as 2 different albums. I wish I could kinda just put folders on the Zune and put each song in them.
Oh well, I have more experimenting to do. Converting video is great on it too.

I agree. I did the same thing with WMP and didnt have any problems at all.I got one of these for my mother for Christmas. I like it. MS did a very good job this time around with the software as opposed to the 1st gen software which was clunky and was updated by MS once every 6 months.I got one of these for my mother for Christmas. The comment about the tags is not really an problem, its just that you have to understand how the program reads tags. WMP (and thus Zune software) reads albums through both the Album tag and Album Artist tag. By default, tags make the Album Artist tag the same as the Artist tag, thus when you have different artists, you have different album artists, and when you have different Album Artists, you'll have multiple albums. The fix is to make sure every track on the album has the same album artist.
Using Mood Muzik 3 as an example, you could still have "Joe Budden ft. emanny" in the artist tag, but make sure the Album Artist tag is "Joe Budden". Best way IMO to do this is through tagging software, I use MediaMonkey.
Just wanted to comment on that since just using a different program is a real general way of doing things, like you don't understand how the problem was fixed but just see that it works fine.
On the topic of zunes, I used some christmas money to pick up a Zune80 today. Screen doesn't quite pop like the flash models on display, but still looks great. Definitely beats out my old 60GB Gigabeat that fell apart after 7 months. Helps that the interface is pretty much the same as the gigabeat.Last edited by Tha_Kid; 12-31-2007, 08:08 PM.Comment

Well guys, I was trying to watch an episode of Heroes when it just shut off half way through and said that the media could not be found. It did this with a couple of other movies as well. It also did not recognize some of my songs even though they were ripped from the same album as songs that were recognized.
Overall, I found the software to be too clunky for my liking and not worth having the big screen. I was going to take it back when I got back to Chicago (I wanted the music for the trip), but my dad got some wireless headphones for X-Mas and wanted to try them. We plugged them into the Zune and it wouldn't turn on (it was charged and everything). With all the problems I had been having, this was the last straw and I took it back.
Creative's are very hard to find now, so I decided to get a 160 GB Ipod classic (I've never owned an Ipod before, but I freakin love this thing). Games, coverflow, 160 gigs, the ability to make playlists on the go, contacts and schedules, and software the works makes this well worth giving up the few perks I had on the Zune. I don't want to start a flame war or anything, just updating. I really wanted to like the Zune, but as soon as I did I'd have another problem. My only regret is that I bought that Incipio case, and now cant use it.Comment

Very understandable. I sometimes really like the Zune80 and then there are times where I despise it. There are things with Podcasts that I dislike + a few things with anytime that you pause a song for a long period of time, its not smart enough to bookmark that spot on return so you can listen to the song where you left off of or if its a podcast in MP3 its worse. Because it could be 1 hr long and your 30 min. in and have to pause and resume later.Well guys, I was trying to watch an episode of Heroes when it just shut off half way through and said that the media could not be found.
