I figured having one thread with all Zune 2 talk would help keep everything in one thread for those that might have similar questions about the software.

I went to a few stores looking for this today and no dice. I was able to mess around with the new player at CC and really liked it, albeit the limited functionality it had as a display. If I can find an 80gb, I'll probably get one for sure and sell the Classic on ebay.

MS sold me with the original 30gb Zune.

Has anyone tried to run the software on a VISTA machine? I had problems with the original Zune software installing earlier in the year, but I would think that should be fixed by now.

I run my on Vista Ultimate and it works fine.

I just got my $99 zune. Not opening it til i get a screen protector and silicon case though. Just wondering how the video playback is? Also, does anyone recommend media software to use besides what comes with it?

I think you will have to tag edit the mp3s. I was having a similar issue when I first installed the software. Here is the fix:

1. Download mp3 tag (http://www.mp3tag.de/en/download.html) and install it.
2. Run the program and change the directory to wherever you keep your music files.
3. Right click on each song and choose extended tags.
4. Change the BAND tag to the correct name.

This should fix the problem and it worked for me.

No problem. It spent all of Tuesday night trying to fix the problem and after 3 hours I discovered this worked. I love the device but the software is horrible.

Hang in there bro, a hacked version of the software will probably be out like with the first gen Zune making things much easier.

I still have to find one, nobody has these in stock anywhere.

Dec 13 seems to be the date when the next batch are being shipped. I live 10 minutes outside of Baltimore and only one store had them on launch. They seem to be sold out online too.

Where I live, you would think that just about anything could be found since there is so much retail around here. It was a crazy hunt today for this thing, I called Best Buy first thing in the morning and the guy on the other end said that they had them in. So I rush over there only to find out that it was the 80gb Classic, what a bafoon, and I even called the guy an idiot to the sales clerk because he didn't know the product that he was selling. It surprises me how many people sell product at these stores that can't distinguish what a product is from the competition.

So I went to a Target, KMart, Staples, and no dice. I thought, might as well give Walmart a shot............as I look they have tons of 4 and 8gb and then as I'm ready to just walk away since the damn packaging looks almost the same and confusing, I notice 1 80gb. I bought the 80gb today.

Once I download the software and play around with this thing, I'll be back with some impressions. The little I have looked and messed with it taking it out of the box, it looks nice and sleek.

If I end up liking this thing, going to sell the Classic and use this as my player.

Walmart has a 2 year Product Care Plan for $17.99 on this one, while everywhere else its $39.99. Are the Walmart plans any good?

Thats the worst part of loosing all of the specialty stores from the 80's and 90's. Yeah, they were more expensive, but the sales staff knew what the hell they were talking about.

It drives me nuts with people not knowing what they are talking about and I agree with you about the specialty stores.
