right, but someone earlier in this thread alluded to the date. I'm guessing that it was many years later that Chigurh tracked down Moss's wife.

I think it all happened in a relatively short amount of time. I think the lucky quarter was printed in 55 or 58 and Chigurh said it took 22 years to reach the man.

yeah, I think it takes place in 1980. Also, if you at the cars in the film, they look early to mid 80's style cars.

Saw it today, one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. I am another one of those that did not like the ending, I'd explain but those that didn't like it have already explained it well.

Honestly I think Chigurh is the best bad guy I've ever seen in a movie. A+ Movie.

                Wow this movie sucks horribly.

Was too long and too slow at parts. Lots of badass scenes and great acting, but they never put the story together. Probably 70 minutes in I started wondering what the hell is the story about? It was pretty obvious they were going nowhere with it. A chicken with its head cut off....

Jimplication said it best IMO, they tried to make this movie more than it was, and it ruined it. Also Jimplication mentioned all the worthless characters, Woody Harrellson in particular stood out to me. As far as I can remember, there was no reason for him to be in the movie, especially in so many scenes.

I haven't read the book, but from people's comments here, seems obvoius to me that the producers/directors really, really messed this up. Too many important facts left out, never tied the story up, too much meaningless crap taking up time.

Great movie IMO and I'm not alone. I respect the comments of my fellow OSers, but the fact remains that this movie is one of the most critically acclaimed in recent memory.

I think that Travis Hafner did a great job in this movie as Anton.

I thought Woody's character was a great contrast to Anton to show exactly how psychotic Anton really was.

I thought Harrelson's brief appearance brought a lot to the movie. His final scene was pretty gripping.

Wow, just saw this movie. Pretty gully. The ending is.....well it leaves alot open. Then again you kind of know what happens but would just like to see visual confirmation. Also it seems movies lately have gone for the "no heroes win the day" theme and its business as usual sort of thing.

Its too bad a movie like this screams for a happy ending. Where the good guy sort of wins in a way. The way it ended its like evil wins and walks away. I think the old man in the wheel chair made a great point and really contradicts what the movie and society seem to be saying. How this world has become strange with stranger people when in actuality it hasn't changed a bit we just hear more of it because there is soo many of us to talk about it.

Saw this yesterday and thought it was brilliant. One of the most tense movies I've watched in a long time. Best movie of the year for me so far.

For me too-Javier Bardem (Antwon) received a supporting actor Golden Globe nom for his performance. The movie got 4 altogether, including best picture. I didn't realize that Bardem was the first Spaniard to receive an Academy Award nomination for his portrayal of a Cuban poet in Before Night Falls (2000).

Saw it last night. I'm sorry but a movie with no ending will always get a negative review from me.
