Capt. Ed Winter of the L.A. County Coroner's office tells TMZ that it appears as though rapper Pimp C died of natural causes in a Hollywood hotel room today.

We're told no drug paraphernalia or other drugs were found in the room. The rapper, we've learned, was found fully clothed on top of the bed. He did not seem to have fallen or injured himself and he was positioned on his side.

Winter said it did not appear that there was anyone else in the room at the time of his death. An autopsy will be performed and toxicology test results will be available in six to eight weeks.

Pimp C, whose real name is Chad Butler, was one half of the Houston rap duo UGK

There are a number of reasons. For each individual who chooses to use a drug, I'm sure it differs. Being strung out on drugs though does beg questions about mental stability/health. Hardcore drugs are all-around bad news.

yes because getting rid of stress and depression temporarily at the cost of your life forever is reasonable. thats exactly why i have no sympathy for anyone who does drugs and dies. all you smokers out there can die from lung cancer.(maybe a bit harsh but i don't really care)

I don't smoke or do any kind of drug but this statement is ridiculous. And if someone did do drugs for stress or depression then I don't see a problem, life is too short to be walking around depressed all the time.

In regards to that, I read on Billboard's article about him being unable to promote UGK's latest album because of mental and physical issues related to him being incarcerated.

His 2006 solo album, "Pimpalation" reached No. 3 on The Billboard 200. But it was understood that his stint in jail affected the artist's mental and physical health dramatically, to the point where he was unable to promote "Underground Kingz" in a meaningful way.

I agree with you in theory.

I have no problem with people doing drugs. It is their life, and they should have the right to do whatever the hell they want to do; as long as they are not hurting anyone else. Be my guest and do drugs in your basement, just don't go into public high.

The people that are doing drugs know that what they are doing has consequences, so I really have no sympathy for them. I might feel bad if an old friend that I knew before they got into drugs got sick. But other than that, I really feel no sympathy for drug users.

It looks like it was. He was a known drug abuser.

probably that syrup. if a lot of your boys died from overdosing, why would you use? DJ Screw in particular.
