I don't see the greeks being important enough to play a larger role. I think their role is fine. They showed us how Marlo pursued them and basically got their connect by killing Prop Joe.

McNulty's homeless murder thing has gotten so out of hand that even he wants out. I do like the newspaper editor basically calling his writer a fraud.

I have the same feeling though Solider, that the last couple of episodes are gonna feel extremely rushed with storylines being left open.

BTW, Clay Davis on the stand last episode was as good as gets in charachterizing a sleezy politician. When he stood up and reached in his pockets I had to applaud.
Man I'm mad as hell that Clay got off lol but he did play that part well.

It was the state's attorney and Mr. Mayor's faults. The mayor wouldn't let the feds handle it, and the state's attorney turned down the higher charges that Sydnor and Lester said they had. I really hate the mayor.

Unlike a lot of people, I really have enjoyed this season. The only downside is only having 10 episodes to try and tie up all these stories (obviously they can't tie up everything). One of the strengths of the show is to build very slowly to a climax, which means lots of small scenes and character development that we're not really getting with this season. That's the only downside of this season in my view.

So it just came up on demand as of midnight (Sunday night/Monday morning), right? Hopefully someone ups it to TPB or something quickly, I can't wait.

EDIT: Could someone check TPB and whatnot for me? I'm at work and don't want to be browsing torrent sites... I'm dying to know if this might be available for me when I get home.

                quite an episode

btw, the previews for episode 9 look insane. It looks like they are going to end this series with a bang.

So if I've not seen an episode of season 5, is it worth it to me to check it out next Sunday? I may just wait until it's out on dvd.

Never start this show in the middle of a season. Wait until you can find the previous episodes (they should all be easily available online, sometimes streaming) before starting into a season for sure. Way too much missed to make it worthwhile at all really.

I haven't read throught the entire thread but if this has been mentioned please excuse me...but if you have Time Warner cable and have HBO on demand, they show you next week's episode a week early. I watched next week's episode today at about 5 AM. After it went off they mentioned that there were only 2 episodes left. I won't have a reason to keep HBO except for Entourage...

What an episode. Geez that was really unexpected, and so early in the show too. I spent the last 35 minutes of the show mainly thinking about what happened in the first 10-15. Episode 9 looks to be dynamite, can't wait. It's such a shame it's all coming to an end.

With all these trained actors and schooled performers...not one can come close to conveying the pure anger and menace Snoop gives off with just a look. Her ish is real, and none of those dudes can copy it with acting skills. Steven King called her the most frightening female villain in TV history. I agree.
