Marlo had a line in ep. 9..."My name is my name".

Vondas had a line in season two "All they know is my name, but my name is not my name."

...pretty stark contrast

I liked that part because it was the first time Marlo raised his voice above a whisper. Does anyone find it odd that, here is a classically trained actor that shows the range of a paper bag? That was the first time I've seen people afraid of Marlo.

I like Marlo as a character but I wish they would have developed him further. I guess we have 90 minutes left.

I like Marlo as a character but I wish they would have developed him further. I guess we have 90 minutes left.

Marlo's supposed to signify the newer, colder dealers who don't really show emotion. Unlike Stringer Bell and Avon Barksdale, there's actually nothing else to Marlo. He's socially awkward, can't pick up girls and speaks in shakespearian phrases. That's it.

People have always been afraid of Marlo. He's the strong silent type that makes his point across without having to raise his voice. IMO those type of people are generally more feared.

I liked him as the mysterious charachter. Michael is more intriguing to me anyway.

What happened to Omar was too realistic. I wanted to see a badass Marlo Vs Omar confrontation, but noooo, they just had to go and bring realism into the show yet again. Bastards.

Snoop and those people are watching the news after everyone gets caught. The one kid who was going to eat those gun charges says, "So does that mean that I don't have to take those charges now?" That just made me laugh for some reason.

People have always been afraid of Marlo. He's the strong silent type that makes his point across without having to raise his voice. IMO those type of people are generally more feared.

I agree, I like the fact that he seems somewhat inept socially but runs a very tight ship, he is an expert on the code of the streets but not much else. The only character that seems somewhat out of place to me is Cheese (Method Man).

Cheese was a necessary evil for Marlo. Marlo needed him to get at Omar and Joe, and you can't just kill him right off afterwards. Kind of like how they kept Bodie around because he made money and to get at Michael, but offed him at the first sign of trouble.

Overall, I think this was probably the best episode of the series. The hardest part to watch was the end. When I saw Dukie, Michael, and Bug in the car with the money, I was thinking they'd run off to a different town and start anew together, and was smiling. By the end, I was crying on the inside.

does anyone else think that Carcetti's run in with Bunny Colvin in ep. 9 ,and probable reflection on how that all went down, will be a factor in how Carcetti deals with McNulty?...im curious what kind of factor it will play.

As far as I know, everyone here has watched episode 9. At least none of the posts thus far are on 10.
