Im a new apple convert. I still have no idea what apple tv is.

Is it just a little mac-mini looking thing that you attach to your tv and then download movies from itunes? Does it work like tivo?

So with the new Apple TV software, we're seeing Apple really take a shot at MS' digital download service.

If I can access HD content faster from Apple than MS, I'd be more inclined to side with them.

Holy crap this new laptop fits inside an envelope.

Mult-touch trackpad, 13" display... it responds to gestures and the like... you can move windows and pictures with simple gestures, similar to the iPhone/iPod.

Built in camera and 80GB HD.

The Air is pretty badass, but not for me at all.

That's f'n bullcrap Apple. I all ready have those via cracking my Touch, but charging me 20 bucks for something I should have had all ready? Why do they pull this ish on us? It's like when EA removes a feature and brings it back 2 years later. Apple really f's its fans that purchase stuff right away, I don't know why they bend over the people who like them. Makes me not want to buy Apple sometimes because they continually treat the customer like crap later on.

I think most touch users don't really care since they've had the applications already... such as myself.

The sad thing is the business practices they're employing... first the crazy iPhone price drop... and now this charge while the newly shipped devices will have them already included.

Either way, people will get around paying the $20, so no loss there. I just feel for the people that don't know enough to do it.

I tend to agree, but they aren't charging for the updated AppleTV software. Doesn't seem to be consistancy

Exactly...I just will continue using this version of the firmware with everything I have.

For me it's just the principle of the matter. Apple continually screws people over. Maybe hardcore Apple fans don't mind, but it annoys me and I'm less likely to buy other Apple products. Why buy one when you know they'll do something cooler that f's you over in 3 months? I know technology evolves, but Apple screws you over more than just evolving technology. I know products age, etc...that's just not the case here, Apple just wants to stick it to us and get more money.

That's the problem. What do they gain from charging $20 for this? Especially when they include it on the newly shipped devices already? If it was $20 across the board, that's fine... but it's not.

Really, what's the point in pissing off your customer base? I can tell you I would have un-jailbroke my ipod and went legit if this was a free download... but it's not. So I'll continue to do with my device as I seem fit. The only update even semi worthwhile was Google Maps... but not enough to justify losing my customization and $20. Give me a break.

They didn't have to give me $100 for my phone, but they did. While I agree that the $20 is a little strange, you can't make a blanket statement like that. Just hack it and you get it all (and more) for free.
