Re: Breaking Bad - AMC Show
Pretty funny you said that. My wife and I just got into Game of Thrones and power watched Season 1-3 in a matter of a couple weeks. After we caught up, I told her I enjoyed it but wished I could erase Breaking Bad from my memory just to relive it all over again!

We actually were making a reference to this poem in church several months ago and played the narration of this very segment as a set up for the message. Powerful.

Re: Breaking Bad - AMC Show
I gave in and started watching it. I was suffering from Hype Aversion big time. But I gotta say...smartest decision of the year was when I got Netflix and started watching this. At some point down the line I'm gonna start over and see what lil' details I missed the first time through or nice bits of foreshadowing. Just to see how clever Vince Gillian is.
Only problem I have with the whole show now is that everything is kinda downhill from here. Unless another perfect storm appears. And that might not be for ages.
Or until I make it, that is.
Anywho. Favorite moment in the entire series was probably...
Spoiler...when Walt was at his lowest point. Just got shot down by his son. He's miles and miles away from anyone that he's loved or cares about. Totally alone with nothing to show for all his work but a barrel of money. Pretty much ready to throw himself on a sword and let the cops take him in. But then he sees a news report and Elliot and Gretchen claiming Walt had nothing to do with Grey Matter besides the name. And nothing could be further from the truth. And Walt gets this look in his eye...
And the show's theme music starts playing. My body's levels of hype shot through the roof. And I just knew awesomeness was forthcoming.
And a meta moment that made me smile ear to ear was seeing Vince Gillian's script's final words before the fade to black.

This show is so stressful so here's a good laugh.
Cranston doesn't know what a badonkadonk is.

And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
