I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Directv, NFL Sunday Ticket and MLB Extra Innings is nice, and they seem to always add the new channels, where as Dish doesn't as much

Your the second one to mention Extra Innings, is that not available through Dish Network? I know I can get it through Comcast, and I know that right before the season this year that it wasnt going to be on anything but Directv but they reached an agreement at the 11th hour and it was on Comcast as well as other cable companies.

My folks had Dish Network and got rid of it and now have Directv, my Sister has Dish Network now but has never had Directv so she thinks Dish is great. I personally love Directv, the HD channels are top notch video wise, adding channels at a much faster pace then anyone else and besides the hold times being somewhat extreme at times, their customer service is far better then what I get from Comcast, thats for sure.

Frankly, with the HD you can't go wrong with either. ONe month DTV is ahead, the next DISH is ahead. IT will be like that for awhile. Dish is a bit cheaper for me right now than DTV, so that is why I'm with them. PLus the 722 is a great DVR in my book.

Sorry but Dish is not ahead and they never will be until they decide to spend some money a lauch 2 new satellites. Dish does have some good options on the 722, mainly MRV.

DTV is a whole 6 channels more and most of that difference is RSN that I don't subscribe to anyway.

Re: Dish Network or DirecTv ??

I been debating which to go with too. I hate cox cable with a passion now.

Its pretty sad that I don't know anyone personally with direct tv! I've heard good things. My buddy has Turno Hd dish and its pretty awesome. He gets 100 hd channels with locals and everything. I'm impressed with all the movie channels he gets. Does direct tv get that many also?

I also like the Dish dvr also. My buddy was getting pay per view at 1080p. Another thing he said he can do is connect his computer to the dvr and copy shows/movies to his computer. Never seen it done but thats a cool feature.

Does direct tv offer that also?

Direct TV just got a 1080P update. I think that's for PPV movies in the near future.

                          DirecTV. It's not even close.
