The intro to Death Parade is freaking catchy. Lol.

The OP to Absolute Duo is pretty good as well.

The new Production I.G show, "Maria" something something is solid. Great animation, medieval setting and a fun main character like Lina from Slayers.

Aww man, Origa passed away due to lung cancer. I loved her music in things like Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex, especially the opening "Inner Universe". <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/EIVgSuuUTwQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

                Re: Anime/Manga Discussion Thread

So I'm getting into the mood for a mecha and was wondering what some suggestions would be?

I have seen both TTGL (Loved it but hated ending, ) and Code Geass (It was good but not enough mecha for me. Good story though).

I seen mixed episodes of Eureka Seven (on toonami a while back, lol) but it seems more like a slice of life mecha not really like a action mecha. Plus I'm pretty sure there's 2 seasons and pretty long. (Doesn't really bother me about length though)

And then of course Gundam wing that I seen mixed episodes of on toonami back in the day as well.

Just wondering what some of you guys favorites are?

Also everyone see the news that Toonami is getting Kill la Kill. They just got done TTGL on toonami so they seem to be branching out more.

I never seen Kill la Kill so not sure what to make of it. How is it?

Since School started back, I guess it time for me to go back on my Anime Grind. Only problem is that I spent the summer and fall catching up on old amine like Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, Fairy Tail, Attack On Titan, Sword Art Online, and some others. So I have not been paying attention to the new amines that were released.

Right now I'm finishing up SAO 2 but don't really know what to watch after it.

I watched it on Netflix and it was pretty damn good. It has everything you expect from a well done anime with a lot of action in it. It more of a funny/action anime. So you can't expect a deep story from it.

Finished Akame ga Kill yesterday and it pretty damn good but dislike what they did too most of the characters. The ending was meh, but the damn fight was good.

Never could finish Kill la Kill. I had committed to doing so months ago because I initially watched enough episodes that I figured I might as well finish. It's been tough going though, still only around episode 16 or 17. I'd say it's just not my style but I like Gurren Lagann a lot. It's the story itself, just doesn't resonate with me I guess.

Akame ga Kill started off very solid, got mediocre very quickly and became very bad, imo, at the end. There was just not enough character and story development for me and it seemed like characters were being killed simply to trigger shock or or other emotional response. After the first few episodes I could never get attached to a character and thus, be shocked or sympathetic to the loss of them because so many were killed so soon and predictably after introduction. That ending just left me shaking my head. I also disliked the constantly switching tone between serious themes of war and death and ridiculous attempts at comedy.

Yeah the story in Kill la Kill is pretty stupid and basic. Nothing really catches your eye when you watch it.

With Akame ga Kill like you said started off good but went downhill fast. This is mainly due to them killing off most of the characters. I was ok with the first two deaths since they added to the story, but the others were uncalled for and unnecessary. A lot of the characters did not deserve to die. I was expecting to see how the Kingdom has changed in the future but nope it just about Akame. It was one of the worst endings I seen in a Anime. The tone switches way to much like you said. One minute they are upset over a death and the next they are joking around. This is due to the characters knowing that they all could die at any moment and can't dwell on their comrades death. It was cool seeing Tatsumi POV but I would of like to see more of Akame. Compared to how much they showed of her, she seem like a side character like all the other assassin, compared to Tatsumi. It would of been better if they would of shown more characters development of her. The action in the anime was pretty good, pissed at what happened to Tatsumi. It just makes his character development pointless in the end.

ALDNOAH.ZERO is pretty damn good. It kept it pace and did not lose it at all. I really don't watch Mecha all that much but this is making me want to watch them. I'm still confused about Slaine character though, not sure which side he is on. Other than that, it is a must watch like you said.

Akame totally got butchered because instead of following the Manga they went with their own ending. After hearing about what they did I dropped it. I mean they skipped the whole jeger vs wild hunt stuff, characters that are still alive died and characters that were killed off were kept alive.

                            Then that ending.....ewwwww. I mean
                            Spoiler
                            Akame Manga is much better.

I am trying to get through SAO 2. It's not capturing me like the first one though. I mean I seen the LN and even in those the arcs SAO 2 covers were not appealing to me. However I do hope they do the alicization arc next. SAO 2 will sell, it's hugely popular so I'm expecting a 3rd season.

I finished Hellsing Ultimate and man. That was great. Lol.

I'm also as a huge DxD fan excited as hell for season 3 in April. Granted the first 2 seasons of DxD aren't really great. Even in the LN's I found them to be the weakest. However after reading up to the current translation (Volume 18 is currently being translated) it gets so much better. If season 3 of DxD can follow LN's 5 and 6 correctly then there's going to be so much great stuff to happen. I totally recommend DxD, just be warned there are times that the fan service is a bit over the top but when it's serious it great. The setting, characters and story just gets better and better.

Not sure what I'm going to watch next. I have some stuff that I'm watching this current season but I'm looking through my plan to watch list. Lol.

Yeah the first season of SAO was good but the second not so much. It seem like they are trying to even out the real world and Virtual world too much. I find the show is great when they focus more on the virtual world.

Might have to watch Hellsing Ultimate sometime.
