Come on, are you saying Jay Z's verses against Nas's person were comparable to what Nas did to him? Which ones?! All that female "you know who" isht? Nas killed him man. Jay Z had nastier lyrics against Mobb Deep than he did Nas.

Nas obviously won by default (he made Jay Z cry), but I think Takeover was a far better track than Ether.

Ether was "meaner" and a better "hating on someone" song, but Takeover actually had put downs that are individual and actually aimed at Nas. Most of the stuff in Ether was either not true or just surface stuff.

Ether is crazy overrated imo. What made Takeover and Superugly better was the fact that it was pretty much all based in truth. At the time, it was true that Jay slept w/ his girl, that Nas only has 2 good albums and that Nas switched his image up a ton (Escobar(.

Ether is a solid song but its just Nas shouting insults with nothing to back it up.

I dont remember it like that though. I remember everyone was excited to hear Nas come back at Jay and when he did they went crazy. I honestly think that Superugly was the "meanest" one of the three but people got on Jay because they thought he went to far (The condoms on the baby seat line.)

People think Nas won because people love the underdog. Jay was the top rapper in the game at that time and Nas was just coming off catching a brick with Nastradamus. Nas couldve come weaker than Ether and people would have said he won.
