Nas didn't have a 1 hot album every 10 year average. I Am and It Was Written are as good as Jay-Z Volume 3 and the Roc album.
I wouldnt call I Am, IWW, Vol 3 or the Dynasty hot albums. They were slightly above average albums imo. Jay's point was that in five years he came out with more classic albums (RD and Hard Knock Life) than Nas did in 10 (Illmatic) I happen to agree.

Foolish?! No way. They both sounded flawless, and had punch in every word.

Yeah it was originally supposed to be Em and Royce da 59 but something happened, and Hov got the rights to the track somehow and put his own verses in.

Was he lying? I mean he did **** his girl right? Plus its not like that came out of the blue. He did reference it in Takeover.

I hear you. Jay's only mistake was not waiting a little before responding to Ether. Nas played it right by waiting a few months before responding to Jay. Jay's ego couldnt take that the streets were loving Ether. With that said, I still think Ether is overrated. That "Dame Dummy" line and all those lines about Jay's looks came off as corny and not strong enough for a battle rap. I just think Ether could have been way more precise. I guess I prefer diss songs that are based in truth. I love Common's "The Bitch In Yoo" because pretty much everything he says about Cube is true in that song.

Yeah, I feel what your saying man....we can agree to disagree there...but like I said before, I think the mere fact Nas was able to come back w\ something above average is what puts ether up there in peoples minds..i mean, Takeover KILLED him lol

Hard Knock Life was a classic. Sure it had alot of hits, but I tend to think that was one of his worse albums.

That said, I prefer Ether. Better lyrics, better beat, more venom, just an all-around better track IMHO.
"Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."

Never heard the Royce version. I gotta say that I think Jay shined on that Em style beat. One of my favorite tracks in any genre.

"Moment of Clarity" is a better example. And, I would send that track to you but your *** never gets on AIM anymore.
